Thought Edwards Batth BMI Etebo Allen Vokes all looked they were trying yesterday and fighting a bit harder than we’ve seen for much of the season. Was nice to see a few more than normal putting some effort in even if it didn’t amount to much
Genuinely didn’t realise Ince was there for about the first 10 minutes then he didn’t even look like he’d tried until the 10 mins when Bojan came on. Woods just sloppy and so limited. Stands around arguing about decisions when the ball is half way back down the other end. Clucas is just dreadful and then whinges at everyone else when he’s consistently the worst player on the pitch. Complete passengers.

Edwards and Batth were the only two to emerge with some credit.
I thought Ince, Maclean, Etebo, Berahino and Clucas were particularly awful.

Please tell me why Etebo was awful. I've justified my feelings that he was man of the match. Don't come out with swiping comments with no backing up with evidence please.

I’m not a fan of berating but I don’t know how you can say he was awful when he was only on the pitch for 15 mins. What about Allen he offers nothing and obviously doesn’t want to be here. His relationship with the fans is none excistent.

Would agree - Etebo and Edwards. Etebo stuck to his task and tried to create something even when closely marked.

Thought Edwards and Batth played well. BMI seemed to be a lot better, one of his best games in recent times The only problem TC is when you watch the replay of the goal BMI is marking the front post and absolutely no one else-meanwhile Dwight Gayle is totally unmarked in the 6 yard box. BMI never marks effectively- but yes, for him it didn’t contain any other mistakes and was one of his better games.

I think Edwards tried to look to get forward, Etebo was the only one through the middle who consistently looked to run at them and create something, Ince made a few good runs but was hot and cold and Vokes at least tried to get into good positions but was starved of the kind of service that he thrives on. Centre-halves were generally solid, but when you fuck up a set piece that is so predictable and should be easy to defend, I can't really praise them...

Didn't see the match yesterday, but I'd like to chip in and say I think Etebo has been on average our best player since he came back from suspension.
He can be over zealous at times but I think he is now settling in well to English football.
