FACE IT ROBSON YOUR WANK AND ALSO A WANKER, JOB CLUB FOR YOU SOON Posted on: Tue 04 Dec 2007 The very thing Bryan Robson warned his players about before the shock 0-3 home defeat by Stoke City caused their downfall at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night. "The real disappointing thing is that we talked about defending against set-plays before the game, that we'd have to compete, especially after the game at the Britannia Stadium," said the Blades manager who added: "I told the lads that if we did that, and started brightly, we would probably be in for a good night because I didn't think they would cut through us in open play. "Then, from the first three set-plays they have, they score from in what was a nightmare start, although I thought the lads were looking lively and confident before the first goal went in. "It was a pity that our concentration levels weren't up to it because we have done very well against set-plays in recent weeks. "It wasn't as if we hadn't been warned - we knew Stoke's last five goals had all come from set-plays. They are probably the best team in the division at those because they have such a big side." Despite conceding that his team let themselves down by their defending, Robson did feel that his players hadn't had the best support from the officials: "There were a couple of poor decisions, I have looked at the goals again on video and for the first goal there was a foul on Matt Kilgallon. Ricardo Fuller just jumped into him, and the third, when Shawcross was standing directly in front of Paddy Kenny, was definitely offside. "But we didn't give ourselves a chance with defending like that and at three down it was an absolute mountain to climb."

"I thought the lads were looking lively and confident before the first goal went in". I actually agree with Robbo there. The blades did look lively and confident - for 90 seconds!

One of the worst managers in football ever to hold a Premier League job. He was a good footballer but is fucking terrible at managing, even having Venables hold his hand he was shite

He even has the cheek to have a dig at the ref? Yeah the ref that booked Pugh and let a number of dodgy tackles go on our players C unter.

He's the type of manager that makes me glad we've got Tony Pulis. Ok, he has his faults, no questioning that, but his knowledge of this league is as good as any, and the fact that we are so 1 dimensional yet still getting results is indicative of the lack of tactical nous in the Championship.
Good player, bad manager.

Agree with Nath. I'm not TP's biggest fan by a very long way but I thank my lucky stars we have him instead of Robson. He got Middlesbrough relegated with Ravanelli and Juninho in the side FFS.
Definitely from the Glenn Roeder school of crap football management!

He really is digging himself a big hole. From tyheir recent form, I have settled for a point but this is a fantastic result.
Am I warming to Tony Pulis.
Never. ;D

Let's all laugh at Robson the sour grapes no-hoper!! (I will concede he was a decent player but he should have bought himself a pub and left it at that)

I'm surprised that they got rid of Colin. They may have got relegated from the Prem, but at least Warnock has a bit of a clue about grinding out wins. And look how the other relegated teams are going this season - something not happening over at The Blades.
I hate to admit it but I would also keep Pulis over Robson, he has a terrible record for blowing loads of cash and losing games as well.

''although I thought the lads were looking lively and confident before the first goal went in.'' That has got to be the most stupid and desperate quote I've heard all season considering we scored in the 2nd minute. Comedy gold. How the hell someone that wank as a manager still gets work is unbelievable. P45 looks like it's on the way Captain marvel

I don't know if you get Score on News 24 over there, but none of his co-commentators like him either.
And he tries to talk posh. And fails.

We actually have good presenters etc on ESPN
Do know a bit about football- Paul Masefield ex Preston player certainly knows his stuff- Gerry Armstrong via satellite - Paul Walsh surprisingly good.
Last time I saw BBC the likes of Crooks and that complete idiot Ian Wright are what pass as 'experts'.......and to think folk used to have a go at Jimmy Hill on MOTD
