"Emergency option"... That's right Kev, your career is about to nose dive at the same velocity as a certain Wolly. What a shame. Please can you not compare this 18M phallus to the great man. Have you forgotten your meds again mate

I thought I had read somewhere it was £14m plus £4m add ons? Little chance of the add ons. Not that if I’m right it softens the blow !!

We are obviously in the need of 1 or 2 faster central defenders. At some Point we had a guy called Kevin Wimmer here. I don't remember him at all. Did he really have 17 chances? I must have been unable to follow Stoke during that short period, at least on TV (and irl since I live hundreds of miles away). So I ask the one's who have actually seen him play? What are his pros and cons? Can he really be worse than what we have atm? What's wrong with Kevin Wimmer, if anything? Is it Worth trying to get him back?? Is it even possible? When? What is wrong with our present CBs?

“They’re still looking for another option in defence”.
Yeah, one that’s not a big useless fat bastard.
Christ I despise Wimmer, he epitomises the disgraceful running of this club in recent years, and he looks like an even fatter version of the Hindenburg, quim.

Wimmer is our worst ever signing. With Imbula, Berahino, you saw glimpses as to why they were one so highly rated. I can understand those mistakes. But Wimmer, it was obvious straight away he's a pub footballer. The way it came just after selling Arnie, and using that to buy Wimmer. It's the signing that will define the club for seasons to come. I can't help but hate the player himself, for his lack of effort. What did Spurs see in him??

A lump of Lard they could sell to some thick buyers North of Watford for a lot of money possibly with a back hander. The Palicious money had run out.

That can’t be the reason though, they must’ve seen a player in there but once again Stoke roll into town!! Can’t knock that we got Crouchy though, loved him at Stoke, but Palacios and Wimmer? We’ve basically paid £36mil for Crouch 😂

I think Wimmer looks fit now, but he didn't when he played for us. I really wonder if it's possible to get rid, a club in Austria maybe?

Would be great but will any club match or even get near to what we pay him? (Even with relegation clauses.) Can't see an Austrian club or any European club that isn't competing in Champions league being able to pay him what we do. And he's not good enough for a Champions league side! He and a good few others might just sit on their fat contracts that we offered them. I'm afraid this situation might lead to bigger problems for us.

Not what Hughes said "To get a player of Kevin’s calibre through the door for the price we have paid, in my opinion, is something we will really appreciate for years to come". (By the way, I agree with you!)

Accountability is a word that means nothing in football. The paid value of this pieshifter should be personally invoiced to Hughes to repay, for this purchase alone he should never manage again.

Think the best we can hope for is to end his contract so he is free to choose whatever option that arises for him.

Not what Hughes said "To get a player of Kevin’s calibre through the door for the price we have paid, in my opinion, is something we will really appreciate for years to come". (By the way, I agree with you!) As I’ve said before Spurs paid £4m for him as a back up to Vertongen and he played 15 games only because Vertongen got an injury. So Scholes offered £1.8m, which seemed a sensible offer but, unfortunately, he missed the full stop because of the piece of pizza he was holding in the same hand as he pressed send on the fax machine. Everybody thought that’s a reasonable ok deal considering his lack of game time and fitness, which prompted the Hughes statement. Then on the Monday the invoice from Spurs arrived for £18m and Scholes locked himself in his office for a week scouring the transfer market to try and deflect the flak about to rain down on him. It’s the only logical explanation for this debacle.

geissblog.koeln/2019/07/abfahrt-nach-lohne-der-fc-vor-seinen-ersten-haertetests/Kevin Wimmer's time at FC endsKevin Wimmer will be there for the last time. As Jorge Meré comes to the training camp on Tuesday, the Austrian completes the four-center-back quartet. However, Wimmer will not travel to Kitzbühel. The return of the Spaniard leaves no room for the training guest. "We made a clear statement there. Jorge comes back and we have our fourth center back. The fact that we helped Kevin get fit with us ends with it, "explained Beierlorzer.

By the end of his career he will have played about 50 competitive games in total and earned around 10 million I would guess.
Just baffling really

Any chance of us distributing about 20 players throughout the Turkish 1st division and starting again - there’s still a week of the window to go !!
