..assuming we go with the back 4 which seems to have been signalled.
Just interested to see what people think as we appear to have three other very experienced centre-backs who have more detractors than supporters.
So who would you go for?
a.) Shawcross b.) BMI c.) Williams
Despite Indi being the only left-footer of the 4, I think I'd go with Williams.

Martins Indi.
Purely because he’s probably the quickest CB we have on the books and Batth isn’t exactly Usain Bolt.
We need at least one CB who has the potential to rescue a shit situation with a bit of pace.

Needs to form a partnership with Indi or Shawcross.
Williams, fingers crossed, will be gone in a few months.

With Pieters leaving I think he will put Clucas at left back and hopefully play Indi on the left of the CBs with Batth being the right footer!

Williams for me.To be honest more concerned about left back position.

I think BMI will play LB in all honesty so will be either Williams or Ryan.

I still think that Shawcross is the best of the three. Having said that, Batth does seem suspiciously similar to him.

Indi younger than the others and left footed. Batth seems like a Shawcross upgrade rather than a partner.

I'd be surprised if any of them are here next season anyway. And Jones could well be a bit in awe of Williams as the bloke who's captained his national team for the last 5 years.

Williams is a better player than either Shawcross or BMI

NJ went absolutely bonkers with Williams after Preston’s second goal.
I think he will lose his place in the team.

I think we need to give Batth and Indi a run. Let’s face it we are not going to make the play offs so no pressure there and Shawcross isn’t long term anymore.
Williams is going back and therefore why not try and form a partnership......if they can’t hack it after several games and it becomes obvious then we know how to act in summer?
The annoyance is we didn’t get one of the other two we looked at and they will have more options in summer?

i can't for the life of me see why we didn't go in big for Clarke or Mckenna i doubt we will get any of them in the summer no matter what the back 4 will be here on in won't fill me with any confidence

Williams.
He's been the best of a horrifically bad bunch all season.

We need someone with pace at the back. This season so far has looked like they’re all doing the mannequin challenge

Talking to a Wolves ST holder at work re Batth response was “steady” , re Adobe it was what have you done to him ?! Batth sounds like a 'proper' CB &, if so , it will be good to have one back, rather than the liabiliites masquerading as such recently.
Bit if steel and the odd set piece goal will do nicely. Just hope he doesn't catch mistak-itis that is so prevalent at Stoke.
Which is where I can only agree with your Wolves pal: either Benny's agent has hacked into all football database stats and he nver actually did score all those goals in the C'ship, or we have completely ruined him somehow.
His touch last week was dreadful and led to him getting a knock when he played a hospital pass to himself.
Maybe (hopefully) he'll thrive alongside a target man instead of having to do it all himself.

I don't think he'll give Williams another chance today after his comments about him not learning from mistakes last week. All three are pretty much same level but Shawcross does care about the club and will still put his body on the line and can head a ball.

Out of Shawcross, Williams or BMI, Williams is the best 'footballer', but is painfully slow now and his heading has been poor recently. Shawcross has, sadly, been a liability for the last two seasons as his back problems have taken their toll. BMI gets pulled out of position too easily but at least he has a functional left foot and does have youth on his side, so BMI it is for me, though I think he, too, will be replaced in the summer.

I would persevere with Indi. Williams is on loan and we need to prepare for next season.
