Charlie’s performance at the base of the diamond (for 45 minutes) was a textvbook performance of how it should be played. I’m sure Ryan could learn from that

BillyBee makes a good point about Woods that he saw he was frustrated because teammates weren’t “showing “ . This, for me ,is one of our biggest issues. Against pressing sides there always has to be an “easy” pass among the options or you get picked off. Players have to help each other and give the player on the ball options. It’s pertinent that a comparison to NZonzi is being drawn because he became a far more attacking player when he had options in front him like Bojan and Arnautovic or Odemwingie who made runs and found space.
Players like Woods and NZonzi are like cogs in a wheel they make everything run smoothly but don’t expect them to be the complete wheel. I don’t think Woods is in the NZonzi class but he’s a good player in the right set up for sure. Hopefully our new manager will develop a system to support him.

He’s not very good at anything that influences games , no forward momentum , and a liability in front of the defence , Greg % passer no contribution , said it before Adam is a better player at Kesey he can do one of those things and I hope he starts Tuesday I disagree. He was the best player on the pitch in our surprise away win at Norwich. Constantly demanding the ball and constantly playing the right first time ball. I do agree however, having breezed in oozing confidence and quality, he has gone backwards dramatically. Allowing stoke City traits, like dwelling on the ball, bottling it, taking the easy option etc, rub off on him big time. It's as if the club is diseased.

Charlie’s performance at the base of the diamond (for 45 minutes) was a textvbook performance of how it should be played. I’m sure Ryan could learn from that It was but it was against a very average league 1 side who sat off him and allowed him to play. In the second half they pressed him and immediately stopped him playing. He then morphed back into a slow plodder with a clumsy foul in him. That and the fact that he was blowing out of his sizeable arse after about 60 minutes meant he should have been subbed after an hour.
