I think considering how quickly and vocally we turned on Rowett the media have told the whole world that Gary Rowetts football is shit.
It will be a brave or desperate chairman who calls him next.

He might be made to be a championship firefighter. He can dig points out but isn't one for high ambitious achievements.

He'll carry the line 3 successful jobs and things were coming together at Stoke with only 3 defeats in his last 16 games. He's not quite finished yet I don't think. Things weren't coming together at all,if anything we were getting worse....he wasn't sacked because we were improving. He will probably do a decent job somewhere with less pressure

I've put a very small amount of money on him going to Forest, although I really don't see it happening given the type of football they'll be looking to play. Just you never know in football and the odds were high.
He'll be back in the Championship by the start of next season with a lower-midtable side, imo. Don't see any of the bigger clubs in the league touching him for a while, unless he pushes a midtable club into playoff contention.

Can’t see him going to Forest (this time anyway), but I agree with you that he’ll wait around for the next mid-size Championship club to struggle and do a fire-fighting job for them.

Gods is right: he basically trotted those exact words out in one of his latter interviews and that is his version (he might actually believe it too).
But as we all know - and you rightly point out - that isn't the full story.
And tbf, if he has learnt some lessons, I think he might do alright elsewhere.

If he doesn't believe it now he will definitely start to believe it himself once he has trotted it out often enough in front of prospective employers. I suspect many of us have been there ourselves in our own lives, I'll certainly admit to it!
