Jese has paid €5,000 in televoting expenses to eliminate his ex-girlfriend from a Spanish TV reality show.
Thoughts .... ?

If Its an ex & he's spent that much time & money on her he clearly has issues & can't just let her go. He's clearly a guy who has too much time & money on his hands! & to think we contributed to his wealth by having him on our payroll!

Utter wanker, he’ll end up bankrupt and turning out for a Sunday league side by the time he’s 29.
Ambition.

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that even a very small part of the cost of my season ticket might have helped Jese to do this.

The annoying thing is that he clearly had talent - if he could be bothered to use it. His goal against Arsenal was excellent - I remember thinking we might have a superb player and wishing it wasn't only a loan. Sadly, that first and only goal was the one high spot in his Stoke career. That's what annoys me most about some modern footballers. I can forgive crap players on modest wages who try their best, but those who are paid in a month what most fans earn in a lifetime and can't be arsed to break sweat to justify even a tiny fraction of their salary are insulting every hard working, unemployed or poorly paid fan in the crowd.

That's a very depressing way of looking at it. We all know that the wages have completely got out of hand and sadly there is no way of stopping it, they'll just continue to rise and rise. Sadly some of these pro footballers are sad excuses of human beings.

You could argue that his indifferent contribution to the team ethic in general, plus his distracting histrionics before the penalty miss against Brighton, played a significant part in eliminating us from the PL. and that didn’t cost him anything - in fact we paid him handsomely for it.
He has to ask himself why he no longer has that girlfriend. Perhaps his drifting career as a footballer, plus a personality that stoops to petty spite, persuaded her to cut loose from a loser. Sensible girl IMHO.

I'd like to know what he did in the first place to justify those kind of wages??? He was "the next big thing" in his teens! And presumably PSG thought he still had his mojo when they bought him. He is living proof that you can have all the talent in the world and it is worth the square root of bugger all if you don't also put the necessary effort in.

It's a strange mix of circumstances around him, he had the ability to make it but a massive 5 year contract from PSG. With the signing on fees etc he probably had realised he's made it in life, and its been regularly mentioned his real passion in life is music (which apparently he isn't much good at) but it isn't all that strange that someone who is set for life but isn't passionately involved loses a lot of their interest in it regardless of how much they're being paid.
It probably has an impact on an awful lot of players, how they keep motivated once they're set for life and no longer need to do anything at all because the money is guaranteed. He definitely seems like the type of player who needs a motivator as a manager rather than a tactician or disciplinarian.
I do wonder what impact it has on a player as well though being the guy who gets that move to a big club, and then after a handful of games you're put to one side. Of course one argument is you try and prove yourself, but the other could just be "fuck it I'm done" because the incentive might have gone very quickly.

You need to give FRANK a bell mate. FRANK mate ? It was an attempt at a joke which now I've got to explain will be about as funny as a dose of the shits on a first date FRANK is a telephone service you can ring when you're having problems with drugs and it was in reference to you using the word/name "Charlie". Oh well, I tried and I don't mind admitting defeat
