We were the better team I thought. For all the moaning and negativity we're as good as any team in this league The negativity comes from the manager. We have the strongest squad in the league bit we play in a very negative frightened way. That was a good performance though and a step in the right direction. We really should have won The negativity comes from people like you and Nott1

They are the hardest ones to take. Can't really have a go at anyone after that - and can only curse the gods of football. 16 shots to 9 and generally looked the part and made Villa look ordinary You’re last line is the key for me: we looked like a team that can win promotion for the first time this season.

Should never have not won that game. Thought we looked better in every area of the pitch. Shame they got that one back. We could have been out of sight if Ince could get some decent connection with most of his efforts... That said, there's not much to really complain about today... There is - we didnt bloody win We desperately need to go on a winning run

Great effort. Nobody to fear at this level, but we have to strengthen that defence considerably in the window if we have any aspirations above mid-table. Defensively we have been going downhill from the moment we gave Huth away and did not think he was worth replacing with somebody viable.
We have not brought a decent defender for what feels like years now(heck we don't buy defenders full stop), culminating in our centre-forward starting at right-back last year.
We have a team playing with great spirit(and a bit of quality) and in my opinion, Rowett has performed a miracle to get a squad of players together to compete at this level, given he inherited a club rotten to the core. We could have easily done a Sunderland this season, but for a great turnaround.
Couple of defenders and we could sneak into those play-offs which would be an incredible achievement from Rowett.
Will Rowett/Stoke buy any defenders in this window or the next - highly unlikely in my opinion, but I think this will be more due to Coates/Transfer team than the wishes of our manager

No complaints at all today.
Tried to win it right up to the death and looked the better side.
As against Derby we didnt sit back and shit ourselves which makes it all the more frustrating and baffling as to why we cant have the same approach against the lesser sides then a lot of these draws would have been wins.
Ultimately the draws will kill us this season.

My only gripe with that is snatching from the kaes of victory with one thing or snothet. Becoming a bit too common for me. These lot desperately need to learn how to see games out from being in winning positions. Christ knows they can do it after Derby. Also- Butland. Try diving to the right for one in your fucking life! Was weak for the equaliser too. Otherwise, good effort. Just would be nice to have a few more wins in this run. Translation please Fucking autocorrect!

We're coming from behind after a poor start and need wins not draws. Ahead twice you should win the game. You don't get points for a good try. Actually you do,we got 1 You know what I mean. We've gone past the stage where we can look for positives in improved performances, if we're going to challenge for promotion we need wins and when we get opportunities against an opponent who's having an off day we need to take it. A draw is not a good result after leading twice.

Rowett has on more than 1 occassion had a go at the defense this season for letting us down and we are still giving late sloppy goals away. We are a young CB, 2 decent wingers (left side and cover for Ince) and a striker away from turning draws into wins and pushing on in the second half of the season. If its any we wont go and get it will be a striker Diouf, Crouch, Bera, Afobe all fighting for 1 position so unless Dioufy or Crouchy go its unlikely we will get another in.

But how would we fair if we got promotion. I’d ❤️ to find out...🏆 How we would fare would depend on how well or poorly we strengthened the squad next summer - that is the case with every promoted club. It is easy to look at a Championship squad and say it has no chance in the Prem - but in many cases that squad is very different to the one which starts the next season. Yeah, Well we’ve see how that’s gone in recent years. Has there been any changes in the backrooms to give you any confidence... My original post was a positive one, but you’ve managed to bring me crashing back to earth. Thank You

Honestly, I'm sure some people on this board would rather we had lost 3:0 so they could continue griping about Rowett, McClean, Allen etc etc and complaining that we dont play like Brazil and win every game by at least three goals.
Yes, it's infuriating that we keep conceding late goals and this team is certainly not the finished article, but that was a hard-fought draw in a game many thought we would lose against a form team, that gives us a nine-game unbeaten run and we're five points off the play-off places. Not perfect by any means, but some whingers on this board were tipping us for relegation back in October.

Apart from a few stinkers, we've played reasonably well for a while now, with some really good performances. However, we seem incapable of seeing games out, and we're drawing too many.
You don't get out of this league by drawing games. Anything less than automatic promotion is a failure, regrettably.

Their pen was a scandal. The ref saw what he wanted to see. It was just a few mins after the spat with Rowett as well

As a fan of the opposition I thought you guys played really well today.
Think I said a few weeks ago on here your slow start was due to mentality and adapting back to Championship football than simply having a poor squad. It reminds me of when we first came down. Had some very good players but we'd forgotten how to win.
I thought Joe Allen was superb today, on and off the ball. Not many better box to box midfielders at this level than him and now they're fit, him, Clucas and Ryan Woods is a midfield trio that should be left alone.
We missed Grealish, our counter attacks were slower without him so you could double up quicker on Bolaise and El Ghazi.
Can see us both being in the top 6 end of the season.
