Not offay with Liverpool. What a fucking dump Au fait? You need to know where you're going. It's spotless compared to Manchester nowadays. If you're around anfield though I can't say I'm surprised. Mind your car for you mister? "No thanks kid, that 10 stone rottweiler in the back will do that" Kid - "Puts fires out does he?"

No problems really. The wife's got some family in Liverpool so we parked at their place and they dropped us off and picked us up afterwards. I really enjoyed the concert - for 70 odd year old blokes you can tell they're top musicians. You're sadly right though about the idiots - just why do they bother turning up ? After paying out quite a lot of money as well. I saw about three or four being spoken to, and a couple were ejected. We paid £79 each with booking fee when we bought them last week, but there were tickets on sale for hundreds - I know it was a resale site so I'm not sure what the real price was.

A doubler here:
Beck on Saturday night in London was absolutely outstanding. Ran the whole gamut of pop, funk, soul, rap and rock in a storming 35 song set. Very impressed and one that's now crossed off my list.
Last night in Bristol, the great Bob Mould, who pounded us with 20 songs from his back catalogue. Just him and his electric guitar. Better in a 3 piece when I last saw him 5 years ago but still worth the trip.

As a separate point. My tickets were £100 each with booking fee. I could t imagine taking the kids to see a top band. Probably looking £500 for the family with everything Some of these bands are pricing the youngsters out of it I got ours in December for the wifes 60th, with add ons came to £300!! Getting very expensive. Enjoyed the music, we sat on the end of an isle which meant every 5 minutes we had to get up and move to let others go for a piss or go to the bar, did my nut in. You think Stokes seats have no leg room well these are ridiculous As for the place itself we had a hotel down by the waterfront, quite nice. Leaving Anfield buses were put on but they dropped us atLime Street, a fair walk to the hotel in the dark and I kid you not it was like a zombie movie, popping up in shop doorways approaching us for money, a bit unnerving to say the least. Great gig though.

Speaking of prices, I think they'll be some decent cheap tickets to had this summer. £15 a ticket for the Paul Weller, Elbow and Simply Red gigs next month at Lytham Festival to be had here. I've gone for Elbow with Richard Hawley and Badly Drawn Boy supporting and will drive before heading back the next day on the piss for the Strokes (full price sadly) centraltickets.co.uk/Home/allevent#

First Aid kit at Piece Hall in Halifax.
Think it might be the best gig venue I've been to in all my years of gigging. Sound and view were superb as were the staff, bars, food and toilets. Very very impressed.
Cmat, Irish country artist was great support and can easily seeing her getting very big. Got some great songs and a great voice.
FAK were sublime.

I've been roped into a tribute band at Sugarmill in a couple of weeks with an ex work mate. The Smyths Anyone seen them. Don't look too bad on YouTube or are they glorified karaoke?

Always wanted to see the Piece Hall so it was two birds with one stone. Superb performance by the ladies although some songs I'd hoped to hear were missing from the set. Couldn't fault the venue I'll be looking out for future gigs. .... and like you say the support were very good.

So having got to the Piece Hall to see First Aid Kit I noticed that Nile Rodgers and Chic were playing the following night and decided to pay the asking price for a ticket. Truly off the scale live music at it's finest and 90 minutes of dancing to the groove. Hat's off Nile you truly are the man. Possibly the best atmosphere I've ever experienced at a gig and the soundtrack to everyone's lifetime. If you get the chance go and see these mighty fine musicians and singers. Ten out of ten

I went to see Agnes Obel some time ago. I had tickets for Sparks two months ago but a surgery prevented me from going, unfortunately. I gave my ticket to my son and he loved the concert.

Forgot to add the support for Chic was Rebecca Ferguson who's name I was familiar with but knew nothing by her. It was a very impressive set despite half the audience around talking during the performance.

Think she’s been doing musicals and stuff in the last few years. She’s always had a good voice

A great voice and seems to be able to play almost any cover request. She does a cracking cover of Highway Star with her band, so I hope to hear that alongside her solo stuff. I checked Cmat out yesterday and enjoyed what I heard. Sadly, her Manc gig later this year clashes with another I'm already going to. Nottingham in November. Slightly too far.

Foals in Manchester tonight, unfortunately, due to the kick-drum being bone crushing loud, it's resulted in the mic on my phone compressing the entire audio when the kick is playing but hey, a flavour ...
