Top top quality player. Wish we'd been making signings like this in the premier league Imagine....everyone would be moaning about spending money on a player from Brentford, should be aiming higher would've been a favorite.

I believe that we should be revisiting Brentford in January, there are a couple more in the Woods category!

It’s only two games so I’m not getting carried away.
But he does look the real deal.
He was fantastic against Sheffield Wednesday.

When in reality he would have still been a fantastic signing for us IN the Premier League instead of the likes of Jese and Cheapo Motel.

Just getting over Saturday and I'm trying to understand what position Woods is playing for us, if like some say on here he's a holding midfield player, or defensive midfielder, just where was he protecting the back four on Saturday, I've watched the game again and yes he looks for space and to lay off the ball, but i just don't see him as a player who can help cover the back four

Why does Ryan Woods run to the touchline every time there's a break in play?

He is such a calming influence, and he’s seemingly completely transformed our midfield.
If we can find a strong and quick CB we will have a great team for this league.

A proper leader. Dictating the game at times waving his arms about and pointing. Its what we need. Someone to take charge on the pitch.

He's got that same calmness on the ball that Abdoulaye Faye had, albeit in midfield.
The first few times you see him shielding the ball and turning players you think he might lose possession or go down a blind alley. Then you come to realise he's brilliant at it.

He’s playing at a lower level for a start It’s just the way he hangs back , picks up the ball and always seems to have the time to look up and find a pass So comfortable on the ball. No of course he’s a long way behind the great man yet. But there’s certainly glimpses there

My only worry with him, and it's something he just can't change, is that teams are starting to isolate him in the air from dead balls.
Playing in the position he does, right through the centre with his deeper starting position, it means the opposition target man, and there are loads of them in this league, will drop right onto his shoulder and win the header every time.
It's nothing wrong with the player and it's something Rowett will have to figure out, be it second balls or bringing someone in alongside him in the long run.
He's such a tidy footballer and we're lucky to have him.
