It'll be interesting to see if he starts Berahino, in Afobe's absence. Will maybe be a sign of how much he trusts him and if he's going to be a factor in the season Crouch and Diouf,442.

If he does something like that, we can certainly conclude that talk of Saido's possible rebirth have been greatly exaggerated But if he trusts him to start, who knows?

That's what I'd assumed. Would have thought, from Liverpool's point of view, the only thing they were bothered about was getting him loads of minutes at a good level. So the suggestion of it coming down to being "emphatically outbid" is interesting, because we clearly aren't short of a bob or two, relatively. What does "emphatically outbid" even mean though? Could Stoke afford to pay his wages? Of course they could. Could Stoke afford to pay Liverpool the loan fee they wanted? Of course they could. but we paid 15 million on 2 wide lads,if we did take Wilson paid them the fee and wages and not played him ,think of what the money men on the oatcake would say

Bullshit organisation, just been to the ground to get tickets to be told the away end is sold out so rather than just open the block next to it they are telling groups of stoke fans to go in the opposite end of the ground with the home fans.
The designated away block houses 300 fans and we’ve just been told that they are expecting around 700 stoke fans. Bizarre organisation

If he does something like that, we can certainly conclude that talk of Saido's possible rebirth have been greatly exaggerated But if he trusts him to start, who knows? Only way hes going to be reborn is to change his contract so that if he plays he gets paid on a goal to goal basis, no goals no wages. Im sure it would light a spark under his arse. If hes benched he gets a basic living wage. Would put a stop to his prozzie antics and gets him to focus on balls in the net rather than the balls between his legs.

Pretty much the same reports this summer on Berahino as there were last summer then?

Pretty much the same reports this summer on Berahino as there were last summer then? Yeah, pretty much! If we do bring in another striker, we'll have to loan him out somewhere. God knows where though. But whether he starts this afternoon will reveal a fair bit about where he's really at

God knows where though. But whether he starts this afternoon will reveal a fair bit about where he's really at Oh absolutely. It's clear that he wants to play 433 but will he allow the injuries to force his hand and switch to a different formation, or will he stick with it and sticky plaster over left back, DCM and striker? If Diouf leads the line it will speak volumes (unless they get a half each of course).

Edwards at left-back, which says everything about how he rates Tymon!

Saido starts, which is encouraging Tom Edwards over Tymon? Wake up lad, your time here is over.

And Fletcher again ahead of Cameron and Sorensen
But it'd still be a surprise if he figured much once we sign a new midfielder.

Saido starts, which is encouraging Fletcher starting is less so. 4-1-4-1? Bauer at LB I presume.

Edwards at left-back, which says everything about how he rates Tymon! Not sure on that one; looking at the line-up they’ve gone l-r rather than the traditional r-l (unless McClean really is starting on the right?)

Darren fucking Fletcher and Berahino back in the fold! 11/2 at this stage on us winning the Championship is possibly the worst price ever offered by bookmakers.

Yes but if he rates Fletcher over Cameron, Adam and Sorenson, what does that say about the depth of our squad? It says everything you've been saying for the last god knows how many days. We have a group of players behind the first XI you wouldn't trust to tie a shoelace or cross a road.

I think it'll be Edwards at RB Bauer at LB.
Something like
....................Butland..................
Edwards.......Ryan...........Indi.......Bauer
....................Fletcher.................
..............Allen..........Etebo...........
Ince................Berahino..........McClean

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/st-pauli-stoke-live-friendly-1836309Edwards or Bauer at left-back? Moritz Bauer has played on the left before and we think he’ll probably start there this afternoon but that’s yet to be confirmed. But Tom Edwards is obviously higher up the pecking order than Josh Tymon, who we expect to go out on loan again this season. It probably means that Stoke need to bring in another left-back to challenge or cover Erik Pieters.

We have a group of players behind the first XI you wouldn't trust to tie a shoelace or cross a road. Is the 'first 11' that good in reality? 6 or 7 are decent at this level. 4 or 5 are bang average or worse.
