Diouf was probably one of the few that gave a shit last season. And I think that he will be a decent asset in the championship with half decent tactics ! Look at how many games he played where he played and how many he scored last season ! Yes he’s not the best finisher in the world if he was he wouldn’t be playing for stoke. Give him a chance in a well set up and structured side before hanging him out to dry !!
It’s a pity some so called “Stoke” fans feel the need to slag off our players ! One thing you can’t blame Diouf for is, his commitment. Is he a limited footballer? Yes ! But to subject him to some of the vitriol I’ve seen by some, is bang out of order !
Whilst the original post is poorly written with a strange choice of words I do agree with the sentiment.
Diouf has the technical ability of a baby elephant. Some of our fans love him because he will run around solid for 90 minutes. You might as well have Mo Farah on the pitch instead. I’ve seen technically better plays in Sunday league football.
I understand that to do well in The Championship each player must buy into the team mentality and work hard but we need to find a balance. We want players with a technical aspect to their game that will also work as a team. We don’t want to end up with a team full of plodders and try hards that don’t know how to kick a ball.
If Diouf is still with us next season he should be our 3rd choice striker. If not, the club have clearly failed to get in the players we need. Afobe was a great signing and it would be nice to have someone like a Gayle to go along side him.

You have to question what anyone’s been watching to think Diouf doesn’t have heart or doesn’t try, admittedly he can’t hit a cows arse with a banjo, but if the whole team put his effort in we wouldn’t be in the championship this year.
