Kroos is the most underrated player of the modern era. In the same way Paul scholes was A player who just makes things look simple and a serial winner One of Real Madrids greatest signings ever

Of course I saw the Sweden-Germany game. Guidetti should have passed the ball to Forsberg in front of goal in the end. Then a german counter attack instead, and Durmaz shouldn't give away a free kick with half a minute left, when he HAD defensive back up (Larsson). Two dreadful mistakes, and a german win. And disgraceful behaviour from the Germany staff. But Sweden should have won it. A crystal clear penalty and red card in the beginning of the game!!! The most obvious penalty so far in this tournament - but NOT given, since it's Germany. Use VAR ALL the time, or not. Now I really hope South Korea play 0-0 vs Germany. Minimal chance, I know. Sorry Musik.... we needed this!! You could still beat Mexico and we beat South Korea and we both go through

That's the power of mental strength. As the game enters its closing stages, they seize the big moments and rise to the occasion, as the opponent mentally retreats in fear. Mistakes from Guidietti and then the defender. Moment's hestitation from the keeper. Two very calm heads to work out the perfect free kick. Execution perfect.
(They are machines - 4 penalty shoot outs at WCs, won all four, target hit = 100% out of 18 kicks. Only one peno saved, by the only GK to touch one of those 18 penalties. Still wouldn't bet against them.)

But Mexico is the team that impressed me most so far though (saw their first game only). Having both tonsillitis and laryngitis atm, so I only managed to watch Sweden-Germany today. What are the weaknesses of Mexico? Really want to avoid Brazil in the 1/8-final. Why? I put 15 SEK (haha) on Sweden-Brazil in the final. It'll give me 3000 SEK (£280), pretty good. ⚽

They prefer to counter and seem to find it more difficult to break down a solid team. The way you attack when you counter, while not with pace, is in numbers and that could unlock Mexico as they stay higher when they attack..

Guidetti have had problems with his footh, after getting injured in training before the game vs South Korea. Maybe he shouldn't be on the pitch. I always have these thoughts, thinking the ego within the player decided.

I was watching it in a packed pub in London, so couldnt see properly or hear, and my gaze kept on drifting to the scantily clad swedish lady to my left, she had a ring of flowers in her hair, a soft pink vest and short denim skirt, anyway back to the football

John Guideti should be strung up in Sweden for not taking that ball to the corner flag I’d forgotten what a useless sack of mostly water he was. Thanks for the reminder Guideti! Please never grace the bet 365 field again, unless it’s as sole goal threat for our nearest rivals in the final game of the season. Surely lard rather than water? He didn't look any more athletic last night than he did when he lumbered around the Brit. It was noticable that after he messed up that breakaway, while the rest of the Swedish team made some attempt to get back into position, he was nowhere to be seen. I thought it was interesting that everyone seemed to know what Germany were planning with that free kick at the end (including the commentators) yet none of the Swedish defenders seemed to pick up on the plan and adjust accordingly. It was superbly worked and executed free kick (though I am surprised that bayern hasn't criticised the keeper for going with his wrong hand ) I wouldn't be surprised if the suspension of Boateng doesn't see Germany stumble onto a much better defensive set up and for them to now go a long way in the tournament.

On this occasion the Swedes were undone by conservatism. Three strikers, none of whom have youth or pace. Why Guidetti? Isak should have been an option at least. I'm very disappointed.
