Nailed on Moyes with Teflon's history surely? I'd like Potter but just don't think the club will be that radical.

We need to pay Allardyce what it takes. Parachute payments don't last long and he represents by far our biggest hope of a swift return. He has to be top of the " Man to talk to list", if we can't tempt Big Sam after giving it everything and more then for me personally the only other candidate is Moyes. We are in a decent position this time as opposed to January as there are very good available managers. We are still a attractive club to manage.

I`m confident that this time they have someone lined up or I don't think they would have sacked him.

Just waiting now for the first published odds on who might be our next manager. We've tried Welsh and Scottish so who knows where we go now. £5 at 25/1 on Glenn Whelan. Not afraid to take on the biggest challenges. Remember Abdoulley. Moyes 6/4 favourite SkyBet McCarthy 6/1 💩 Pearson 6/1💩 Allardyce 8/1 Thank you. Don't fancy any of those names. Looks like I'll be sticking with an outsider.

Although I consider this to be good news I think that us, as fans now have to calm down and let the new manager, whoever that might be, a chance to prove himself. Personally I hope we get Graham Potter. And me. I wanted Potter when Hughes left. Like others I was somewhat worried that the Premier League might be too big a step up for his first prfessional club in England but on balance I thought he was worth a punt. Now we are in the Championship he should not have any problems making the step up and (unlike our Premier League days) we should be one of the bigger spenders (on fees and wages) in the division - thanks to the parachute payments. I'd say the job is now made for Potter. We want a manager who can get us promoted - and he has 3 promotions on his CV, and a good showing in the Europa League with a club which over-achieved massively. I want Potter!! Go on Graham lad!!

No celebration here. The decision to appoint Lambert relegated Stoke. Its only a minor comfort that they realized he cannot take us forward from here when he should not have been appointed in the first place.
So, lets see a statement of intent with the follow up sacking of scholes and cartwright and the appointment of some competent staff with ambition and visions that extend beyond Championship survival and/or a half arsed attempt at promotion on the cheap.
Otherwise its all the same old stuff.

Yup, agree lakeland. A new manager with a whole Summer to bring in and train the players into how he wants things done. It will be a really interesting summer for us now, first Stoke will be more busy than I expected them to be, and second, the World Cup!.

YES to a young, hungry manager........E.g. Potter or Hurst would be my favourites.

Honest question, why do people actually think Moyes is a good choice? Anyone could have kept West Ham up with the amount of money they spent in the Summer and January and even then he nearly f*cked it up. Look at his time at United, Sunderland and Sociedad in Spain. His style of management worked with Everton but he failed to evolve with the times and has been left behind massively. Appointing a dinosaur like him will only see us get even more stuck-in-the-mud. During his time at Socieded he apparently lived out of a hotel during all his time there and didn't try to learn the language. That was a bit worrying. Fuck you talking about didn't try to learn the language?? He was a right polyglot

I'm 50-50 on this. Not convinced by Lambert but now where do they go ? At least Lambert knew there problems and the shit clearance that was needed . I really don't hope we are here in July with a new bloke bigging up Berahino looking great in training. Fletcher as a leader or Kevin fucking Wimmer . I wait developments with interest. My initial choice Neil Lennon done great with Hibs with little money and never a dull moment . A new manager will effectively have a clean slate, get rid of who he wants and build a team rather than having to make do, I don't think the problems we have will be as big an issue with a summer overhaul.
