Who are these 17 people? I don’t believe they are all Stoke supporters. There are 17 sentient beings out there that think that useless lump is the best we can do? Shit a brick I fear for the human race.

I’ve gone for the ‘get rid’ option, but it wasn’t as straightforward a decision for me as it seems for everyone else. I think he was dealt a shit hand and things have gone against him on the pitch which he’s had no control over - frankly, I think Charlie’s penalty killed us. You could see it on the pitch and in the stands. If that had gone in, I suspect a lot of things might have been different. A mate of mine is a fairly regular visitor to the Bet365 with his job and he was told that Lambert was having to spend most of his time picking the players up mentally. Our inability to hold on to leads is almost entirely due to mental fragility in my opinion. I also thought it was quite telling the way that Shaqiri ran to him to celebrate his goal on Saturday. My thinking on this is that Shaq doesn’t look the sort to suffer fools. If he thought Lambert was a bluffer, there’s no way he’d have let him share any of his glory. We’ve seen Shaq’s body language on the pitch when someone doesn’t meet his standards. We can only guess at what goes on behind the scenes, but the players know the score, and that moment just made me wonder a bit. At the same time, the record speaks for itself, and there’s also the feeling that Lambert’s probably not strong enough to argue his case with the powers that be when it comes to the players he wants. Maybe he just didn’t want to rock the boat when he first turned up, but he gave the impression of settling for whatever they wanted rather than possibly insisting on a striker being purchased. So basically, it’s with a slightly heavy heart, I think it’s time for a fresh start. Excellent post. I feel exactly the same.

21 people who want lambert to stay?
I really do worry about the intelligence of some of our fans.
Although, god knows how many were chanting “Paul Lamberts barmy army.” Thank god they haven’t seen this poll.

When he first came I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. I know it's a difficult squad to work with and absolutely nobody would be able to get our, so called, strikers to start finding the net but jeez how many points have we squandered when we have managed to take a lead? He's got to go.

A good number of clubs are fortunate with new managers/acting managers, and the appointment gives them enough extra points to survive. All we got with Lambert is the dead cat bounce, of one win. He must go.

He needs to stay. He's not the best. We needed better at this level. However, he will do fine with a pre-season and transfer kitty under his belt in the Championship. Here he goes again ffs

No worries the one's chanting for poor Lambert are most likely illiterate, the schools in S-o-T have a lot to answer for.

Not much time left to vote now....unless it takes the board a week to think about the managers position. While the procrastinations continue I will keep the thread and poll in view

The Poll has topped 500 with 92% of voters wanting him gone....Can Coates really go against supporters feelings about the manager and continue with him? More often than not when a manager loses the fans he's toast.

More often than not when a manager loses the fans he's toast. If he stays he's going to have a massive struggle to win the fans over and anything bar a storming start to the season could see things turn very ugly very quickly.
