Sadly no surprises for anyone. It was all highly predictable. Astonishing appointment at the time. We all knew it, bar (crucially) the brains trust. You'd like to think he'll be walking the plank next Monday morning.

There's not one good argument for keeping him. Cheap as chips?

Lambert has won 22 points out of his last 35 premier league games, that's right 22 points out of a possible 105 points!!! He was an absolutely disastrous appointment and to see him on the touchline windmilling his arms around as we continually launch long aimless balls in the general vicinity of a striker makes my piss boil. Hughes lost the plot at the end but I'd have him over this useless fucker any day of the week.

Must go tonight.
We were winning until his appallingly incompetent substitutions.

No other chairman in football would have gone near him.
And no other chairman in football would retain his services after that.
I could imagine in the interview he said how he would get the strikers playing and this was music to Coates' ears, meaning he didn't have to spend in the window.
Every other candidate pointed out our strikers were fucking useless.

Has to go. Surely in the cold light of day the board will see what a disastrous appointment he has been. A poor squad yes, but he really should have got more out of it. He’s not the man for the future. The sooner he’s removed the better

It was only a few weeks ago Coates gave Lambert a vote of confidence, it would have to be a pretty big U-turn for him to give him boot imminently?

I've sort of stood up for him, due to him inheriting this bunch of apathetic losers. It could of course've been so different IF Charlie scored the pen, if Carroll hadn't stuffed us in the latter stages, if Jack hadn't launched the ball into his own net, if Diouf had buried a sitter, BUT they didn't and one win wasn't good enough. Sorry Paul

We have looked better organized under Lambert, but he doesn't seem to be able to win tight games ever. I have supported him all the way, but I can really understand questions being raised now.

After today I agree. He hasn’t got his£1m bonus to save us. So paying up his contract becomes cheaper. Problem is, who would come here who we would want?

Anyone hear Lambert on 5 live?? He was talking as if he may not be here next season and rightly so after his woeful attempt of survival.

The simple equation is this:
The board appointed him because they were apparently confident he could solve the limited problems they thought we had.
He did not.
He can’t now go back and rewrite history and say we never had enough. He failed to extract enough from the squad in possibly the worst Premier League I can remember. 3 wins out of 14 would have done it. 19 points thrown away from winning positions this season and the majority of those under Lambert. So no, overall, whilst we stopped shipping 4, 5 or 7 goals, we did not improve with him. We regressed.
He must go.

Do we think, assuming for a second, in the realms of fantasy, that we might be up for not appointing a tired failure from the merry go round, that we might be able to tempt someone high profile as a ‘project’ club? Offer them a stack of money, back them properly, and might we still be attractive to a Quique or a Puel?

Definitely should go....his results dictate none of this crap re the squad he took over....his picks have been astonishing and 1 win in 14/15 whatever it is dire. New start please!

If we'd had no manager whatsoever the results would have little different.
A primary school kid from the crowd would have done better.

1 win in 14 usually gets a manager the bullet but he's a ready made championship level manager with a promotion on his record, he'll be going nowhere so there's no point in even discussing it, he WILL be here next season 100%

Just sack this useless cunt we have in charge and give Qique all the fucking money he wants.

We’d need to act quick though on this (fantasy) plan of action. I think we would be an attractive proposition. Parachute payments plus Butland/Shaq/Allen firesale cash. The thought of Lambert spending the best part of 100m on a pile of shite makes me nauseous

Had one goal and failed. The other improvements if any are irrelevant. Stats will prove has the worst manager in ma y a year. Now we are relegated can we shelve this loyalty crap and say it how it is?
Shockingly awful

Coates and the rest of the wankers running the club are either out of their depth or we'll past their sell by date. Every major decision Coates has made over the last 2 years has been wrong. How the fuck do we offload Berahino,Wimmer, Imbula, Bojan, Choupo and the rest of the clumps like Cameron, Adams,Johnson etc. At least Crouch thinks he's got a club lined up but who the fuck would want to sign a player with the mobility of a broken steam roller??

Since then he has masterminded 2 15th place finishes. Expect something similar next season. The first team will need an almost complete rebuild. Are we really going to put this in the hands of Lambert and Cartwright....sadder days than today ahead.
