I wish he'd stop wheeling out this "I've won the Champions League, I've never lost at Anfield, I've won at the Emirates" garbage. It's not evenly remotely pertinent to anything.

Pretty simple really Agreed but it hasn't been pretty simple since Watford. I just find his media stuff as bad if not worse that the toss Hughes used to serve up to us

When you think about it then it's incredible that we still have a 5% chance of staying up with 2 games to go. This is the 13th game in a row we have had this 'must win' shtick from Lambo and we have won exactly none of them. But still, somehow, we live on. It only serves to make you wonder what might have been had Charlie not shanked his penalty and fluffed the rebound against Brighton or Jack simply thrown one in to his own net at Leicester. 4 points or the distance of forever lost in 2 moments of incalculable madness

The atmosphere when Charlie missed the pen was just surreal, almost silent where I was sat. We could have stayed up, we've just blown every single chance that's gone our way via individual mistakes, bad game management and complete misuse of the squad for 4 months prior to Xmas.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson:
Woy's words were weally well worded.
Being serious, is Roy Hodgson making a point here? (2 managers?)

Don't see the point of them myself mate, all of them are standard PR bullshit soundbites that mean fuck all in reality, and in our kind of situation serve no purpose other than pissing off the fans. Can only presume every manager is given a handbook when they start at a club with quotes to read out for any given situation: "The little book of shite"

It was indeed surreal. It was the same where I was, we finally had that piece of luck we needed by being awarded the softest of soft penalties right at the death and somehow still managed to flunk it, not once with the penalty but twice with the rebound too, you could cut the silence with a knife, there was little anger, folks just felt numb

I hope to god that Bruno being out doesn't mean we'll see Johnson up against Zaha. Playing devils advocate I would say that Johnson has surprised me with his perfectly acceptable performances since his return. However would suggest he will play Bauer there anyway.

No Choupo again as an option! Added to the fact that Jese is no more, our attacking options are a total embarrassment. It's why Bauer will probably play on the wing again. We're weaker still without Bruno as our left sided defensive option. Zouma will do a job but on his 'wrong' side. If Crouch and Diouf start up top, just glance at the probable bench and then tell me where the game changers are.

Leslie was a veritable font of insight compared to this clown and his hard luck stories and misty-eyed reminiscing about his own past achievements. Unfortunately that's correct. Hughes shapes up well physically and brings a bit of swagger along with him in to the press room. He speaks of 'maximum points' and being able to 'taking the game away from the opposition'. And while you would never call him an intellectual heavyweight he did at least deploy some grown up phrases like 'everyone thinks Man City will beat us but we've never subscribed to that view' Lambert by contrast is a mumbling amateur, frankly its unwatchable. It doesn't by definition of course make him a bad manager but I can't tune in to his interviews, they are just a nonsense, it's not even an adult dialogue between him and the press corps.

The way it’s gone I suspect we will win on Saturday whilst also being relegated on Saturday😟 Nah, Saturday will somehow leave us with a glimmer of hope. Tuesday will be the one that fucks us, nice and quietly while we're having our tea. If the universe is feeling particularly sadistic, it'll take us into the last game with a nice easy 10 goal difference to make up so we can pull ourselves out of it.
