I’m not gonna lie, I was sick of it after 12 months. Whilst it’s great to say we have bloody noses to some top teams, it has killed my passion for the game. Premier league is a cancer, wish the FA would force the to teams to just fuck off
As soon as they do fuck off though, that's a de facto relegation for the rest of us. Having a new top tier just means that the Premier League becomes the new second flight, with vastly reduced kudos for winning it.
It's not just the Premier League, it's all leagues. It's caused by transfers being anything over £100m, I'd say.
These £100m+ transfers are killing teams off, even top teams themselves. Defenders and goalkeepers can be star players now, every position can have a player worth £100m+.
The next conveyor belt of 'kids' will be setting even better standards too and probably be worth even more than this generation. English football in particular (international) has seen this coming - our teams below senior are shit hot.
What this means on its current path is that Champions League teams will eventually have 11 players starting that are all costing roughly the same amounts of money. 11 players with transfer tags of £100m+.
In the mean time, overall standards drop because its harder for the 'other clubs' to stay competitive.
You could say some people saw this coming with the emphasis on successful academies being a thing a few years back but if that's the case, why have Fifa just let it happen. Just cap fees and wages, job done. Sorted in 7 words.
Ah the old salary cap. Until someone decides not to do it (USA for example) and suddenly all of the best KickerBall players will be plying their trade in Texas!
I think no team should be able to register more than 30 players and have no unregistered players and not be able to loan players out. That would put the cat among the pigeons!
The constant change of mangers has not helped. Some managers dont even have a player they signed. How can you perform to your best with some one else's tools.
Easily?
As you say it's a common thing now and has been in Europe for decades. It's a poor excuse.
Not really most of European teams have the same average time in charge (around 3 years) I'm sure this will come down, in fact I'm not sure if anyone has a manager more than 3 years apart from retired Wenger. Everton hasn't done that much since Moyles left(spent more also). Bolton with Allardyce, fergie Utd, Wenger untill recently, Curbishley Charlton, Pulis with us. I just thought Sean Dyche, he's got Burnely stable has been there a few years. I don't mind a change but 2/3 times a season, maybe with hundreds of millions to pay for you mistakes if you get it wrong.

At least winning it would be possible. I don’t want a ‘Super League’ that we you can get promoted to, Just fuck these ‘elite’ Clubs off.

It's still not really "winning" though if you're not beating the best? It's only winning if you are the best and can prove it.
If you just fuck off all the competition it's so hollow as to be pointless.
May as well just ask to join a pub league so we can flatten everyone every game with that logic.

And they mainly have technical directors that sign the players anyway. So getting their own players in just doesn't exist.
1 argument to say its not is that for example Everton are the 5th biggest spenders in the last 4 years yet Spurs who are 6th are miles ahead at present so you can argue recruitment still plays a role.
1 argument to argue otherwise is that the league this season in particular has become top heavy with them hoovering up all the talent from clubs below (Lukaku, Van Dijk, Mahrez more than likely in the summer) leaving a gulf in quality.
In my opinion without a transfer/salary cap not much you can do. I would love them to introduce a rule where if you finish in the top 4 CL places the season prior you can not enter the League Cup - it would be fantastic in that it gives every club outside the top 6 a chance of winning something whereas at present the chances of the final not including one of those 6 is very slim.

I also view it as winning when you have so many advantages it isn’t even a competition. By your theory winning the Premier League should have no kudos, as the champions league is better??

Well I'd argue it's harder to win the Premier League than the Champions' League but yes, there is a hierarchy to competitions.
The same as the the Champions' League is better than the Europa, the FA Cup is better than the League Cup, the Premier League is better than the Championship.
Just because it's unlikely we'll win it is no reason to be happy at the club deteriorating to win the next thing down. I'd rather be mid-table Premier League than winning the shitty fucking Championship.
It’s been on the decline for a while. It’s certainly losing its appeal when the top sides have the pick of the best, we are only dreaming if we think we can compete with them. Realistically, does anyone think we will ever do better than an 8th or 9th premier league finish? Unless things change with football in general we will only ever be a mid table team. The question is would people be happier winning the championship or staying as a mid table premier team?
I agree with just about all of your points but by winning (or gaining promotion from the Championsip), we then become a mid-table Premier team again... a never ending cycle?
Only the injection of serious money to match the ‘top six’ will change that in the future I think.
But we really should have been aiming to stay in the Premier league in the first place.

its a never ending cycle anyway, as all we have done in the premier is to survive with the football being on a major decline. The championship will give a bit of a change which is what we need.
I hate the caste system within the Premier League. Like social castes, divisions are about money money money. There is so little mobility. It makes seasons and games too predictable.
The Championship is much more competitive and unpredictable, and that makes it exciting from a neutral perspective.
I have watched Macclesfield Town as much as I have watched Stoke this season. And all though it pains me to say it there is probably more enjoyment in non league than there is in the premier league. Why? because the lads are not earning massive wages. They are mainly playing for the love of football or their aspirations to play in the top leagues, but because they are not there yet. They are not tainted with cynicism that walks hand in hand with top flight football.
The inequality in financial clout of europes top leagues take much of the entertainment away. Hence poorer clubs employ managers like Pulis and Allerdyce to close down games and acquire the magical 40 points at the expense of entertainment
It was particularly refreshing to see the Dagenham fans staying behind to applaud Macc Town players as champions on Saturday. And for them to receive applause back.
In non league most of the teams have nowt so they just get on with it.

Actually I wouldn’t mind a season in the championship to get back to competitive football, I think it will be a rollercoaster ride though and we have to realise that teams will not just roll over for us. Getting back to the PL will be hard make no mistake. There is more to play for after all.

Outside of the top 6 the rest of the division are Cannon Fodder. The 6 need a team to play every weekend. If they could be forced out of the Premier League they could play each other and bore the crap out of everyone. They would be the losers in time and the Cannon Fodder clubs would prosper in a much more dynamic and more equal environment.

See post above about hollow victory. What’s the point of winning something if it does not include the top clubs. One idea would be Top Six are only allowed to sign 1 player for next season, 7-10 can sign 2, 11-13 can sign 3 and everyone else as many as they like? It would certainly enable some clubs to hold on to their talent.
In some ways football mirrors other aspects of life , the rich are geting richer and the poor a little poorer in relation to the rich . As others have said only the Italian League has been a contest this season in Europe .
I think the money is harming the game , maybe those at the very top deserve it but the next level as we can see in Stoke has a lot of average players earning silly money , Mama Diouf for example , is his level of ability really worth £50k a week , not just picking on him, but very few outside the top players justify what they earn .
Even worse are the numerous players who take the money but dont put the effort in , and seems harder for young players to get through also .
In our league 12-14 clubs are playing just to survive for the money which isnt a healthy way to view a sport .
I think the elite will carry on developing and eventually have a global sport , there was a good article in the I yesterday which I think might slowly develop
As for Stoke I just want us to be a club fans can take pride in and be rooted in the City whatever that looks like , I dont think we can compete with the elite but could at the next level , so the sooner they set their own world up and take the TV money with them the better for me.

I go to Macc when I can and what happened their is amazing but the football they play is good on the eye too , they score goals that we havent aseen at Stoke for a while now

I thoroughly enjoyed a game at Solihull moors this year, it was just more ‘real’ for want of a better phrase, with passion, simple and enjoyable. Without all the bollox and hype.
