The 2 goals i always remember from him were the England goal against Belgium in the 1980 European Championship and his left foot curler against Brighton in the 1983 cup final.Vaguely recall all the pundits nicknamed him "The crab" due to his sideways passing.Hope you pull through Mr Wilkins.

Keep the fighting spirit Butch.
Always remember him getting sent off for England after throwing the ball at the referee. Although it was wrong, I admired his passion for the Three Lions on his shirt.

Good player and well respected in the game.
Hope he manages to recover but the initial signs aren't looking good and he's in an induced coma.
Best wishes and hope he gets through this.
Yet another reminder that life is for living and you never know what's around the corner.

Yet another reminder that life is for living and you never know what's around the corner. at least he survived the heart attack, which is a good sign. we had an engineer die after one on site a week yesterday, despite a defrib, ambulance station a few hundred yards away and air ambulance coming in he didnt make it, 65 in April and told me was putting his 3 month notice in to retire. hope all goes well Ray and you pull through

One of the better and more considered pundits too. some of today's could learn from him, that you don't have to rant and scream like a baby to be interesting! RIP

At England v Tunisia at France 98 in Marseille, Ray Wilkins happened to be sitting a couple of seats behind us in with the England fans. At the end of the game he walked along with us as we left the stadium, chatting to us. Got to say he was a really decent, down to earth bloke, no heirs, no graces, just an England fan like the rest of us.
Oh, and he was damn fine player too.
