As some of you may or may not know I have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and have only been given a few months to live. If you listened to Radio Stoke this morning that was me on the radio. If people can get behind what 35 Radio Stoke are trying to do it would be appreciated. If you play in a sports team or run a team or know somebody who does then please get behind the campaign that would be appreciated.
Much love
Russ

Brilliant principles to put your name to - you should be very proud.

Being honest, i absolutely hate clicking on posts like this, it makes me genuinely upset, chokes me up inside, and i tend to skip over them, not out of ignorance but because it makes me too upset sometimes i can't bare to read them.
I think having gone through family members who have had cancer i can relate.
When I find myself getting down and looking for reasons to complain, I think of people like you and the positive attitude you have. Even writing this now, as sad as it may seem, and as much of a dick i can sometimes (all the time) be on here, i do have a heart and its tough to read.
I wish you all the best Russ. God bless you.

Incredibly sad story but wonderful at the same time, what you are doing as a legacy. I hope that comes across as it is meant to as I am really struggling for the right words.
I wish you a lot of love at this difficult time.

These rules are absolutely spot on. Ì managed young boys and girls from the age of seven. Looking back I realise I could of managed so much better. Don't get me wrong I didn't shout or punish but I did allow myself to put compe1tition before just enjoyment. Ì totally regret allowing this to happen. 18 years later I still see the boys and girls about town, they all speak and are friendly, some of them I've apologised to but the answer is always the same, they had a great time. Some of the cheating, screaming and bad language I've witnessed from other managers and parents has been disgraceful. So well done Russ, I wish you great strength and love.

Sorry to hear your prognosis Russ, proud of your efforts to help despite your illness. I can relate to how you feel after my surgery for prostate cancer things looked good until I then went down with bowel cancer and thought it was curtains. However, a brilliant effort by the cancer team in Stoke and then bowel surgery means I am still in with a chance, staying positive helps enormously, you never know mate they are bloody good at keeping us going.
Much love and respect to you and your family, without doubt you are an inspiration to us all.

On the more positive side, cancer took my dad 11 years after he was given less than 12 months.
My aunt, a deeply religious crackpot, refused all treatment for a rate bone cancer because she believed when God wanted her he'dtake her. He didn't want her for 8 years after being given no time.
Hang in there mate.
