Looking at Trentham park and Newcastle at the minute. I live right by Trentham park now so that's looking favourite but heard really good things about Newcastle so going to check them out as well before making a decision. I've not really got an official handicap at the minute but I play off 18 with my mates but by playing more regularly I'm expecting to get that down this year. Before moving away I was a member at trentham park. I kept my membership for 5 years after leaving the area. It's a great club, fantastic course and though I'm biased, you'll enjoy it far more than Newcastle if you get the golf bug. Greens used to be great at Newcastle but the course is bland and boring if you play it regularly. If you get the golf bug, your work commitments won't be a problem. If you are anything like me, you'll play golf when you are supposed to be working There are loads of stoke fans at trentham park and loads that play golf on Saturday morning then go up to the match in the afternoon. I've been playing during the summer months fairly regularly and have mates who are members at Barlaston, both Leek courses, The Manor at Uttoxeter. We also play loads of different courses each year and I've definitely got the bug, but I can't afford to do a season ticket and a golf membership so it has to be one or the other and the more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards getting the golf membership, then I can still pick and choose the odd home games and also still go a few aways as well.

Membership at barlaston instead of trentham park would enable you to do both Some great lads at barl. Big stokies as well

Another ex TPGC member here, who's moved from the area. Would highly recommend, it's a more interesting course than 'castle. Living close also allows those little 6 and 9 hole knocks in the summer months(on your way home from work). You also get the opportunity to abuse Rudgey(something that Johnno has done in the past )
