I know Politics and Sport should never ever be mixed together but after May's announcement today expelling 23 Russian Diplomats and the Royal Family/FA Officials now snubbing the competition, I think a wholesale pull out should be considered. She makes reference to the safety of our citizens in Russia right now and thus will the WC be a perfect time for Putin and his gang to let the snarling dogs loose on our supporters as revenge. It's all looking very nasty indeed and call me a coward, but i'm going nowhere near it, not for a game of football. I'm not sure its actually going to be that safe for our players to be there. We should think about pulling out of the World Cup at the same time as business decides to cut all their ties with Russia, which of course won't happen.

I have already posted on earlier threads. These are not very nice people.
Recent events and today’s announcements can and will make the situation considerably worse.
I would not consider visiting this country for the WC.
On a personal note I am about to leave for the Greek Islands for some time. Russians have been turning up in this area en masses for the last few years and are dispied by the Greeks and most others because of their arrogance and bad manners etc.
We try hard to avoid them but this summer could be difficult.

The Russian tourists are infesting all the Mediterranean resorts as well as turkey , awful people , rude , arrogant , inconsiderate. The young kids are just as bad . They can't seem to grasp the concept of politeness or queuing at the bar or buffet .

The most horrendous people on the planet. We have seen them in Egypt and Cuba over the last couple of years. Normally some bloke surrounded by blinged up women, eating like a total pig at a table and clicking his fingers every 5 minutes at the Waiters to fetch them something. Zero manners and zero respect for anybody else around them.

I suspect some English fans will be 'kidnapped' on the slighest pretence and threatened with long terms in some Gulag. This is not rational behaviour but after going there last year and talking to a few of the locals I now think Putin is somewhat unbalanced 9if not completley mad) and so used to getting his own way that he does not think in any sensible manner. He thinks that he can do anything and get away with it. The country is going downbank rapidly and he needs a distraction for his people to focus on.
England should be banned from going in order to protect our fans (and we will also lose early in the tournament as usual)

Yes i know we have to be careful and we are planning to keep ourselves to ourselves. See what pans out between now and June.

We had the great misfortune of going to a good standard hotel in Crete which we found to our dismay (and disgust) had about 80% Russian guests. Both English and German guests were literally pushed out of the way at meal times and we all just stood back in disbelief as it was almost like a rugby scrum as they battled for the food. It was the same around the swimming pools and we saw numerous instances where Russians just threw peoples existing towels off the beds and just took the beds themselves.
They are extremely arrogant, ignorant, vicious, nasty, eat like pigs and have no manners or understanding of queuing or taking their turn for anything, particularly at the bar when ordering drinks.
As has been said the Greeks almost openly despise the Russians but they are spending lots of money which helps the Greek economy.
We made friends with some Germans who jokingly said that they had a lot to learn to catch up with the Russians level of arrogance.

See what pans out between now and June. just be careful and watch for the government setting people up and lovking them up This could well be the theme if we are not careful. The Salisbury poisoning accusations could be used against our fans very easily. It is far too good an opportunity for them to miss. You could end up doing hard labour in a Siberian work camp whilst the legals spend years trying to sort it out whilst constantly hitting a brick wall or roadblock. Have a read of Bill Browders book, Red Notice, if you want to get a feel for how these people work. They don't send legal papers out for a good old Court room battle, they dispatch assassins, was one of his quotes. I personally would swerve it at all cost. Its just not worth the many risks involved and it's not like your visiting the Maldives, outside of the footie, to add a bit of glamour! I'm not saying don't go but seriously guys, this Salisbury thing is not something to dismiss or fuck about with so plan carefully to keep yourself out of harms way. Make sure you send the 2 Vale Fans down any dark alleys first before you go!!!! The smell should frighten the locals off at least.

I won't be watching a minute of the world cup. Not with the circumstances in which they won the rights to host, and with their repeated incursions into our land, sea and airspace.
The england team should be boycotting it, and we should announce the boycott once the tournament has started for maximum disruption

Scaremongering media Went to Brazil and what the Argentinians were going to do to us in Belo Horizonte as both teams crossed was nobodies business if you read the press prior to it and England were outnumbered probably 30/1 Nothing happened as both sets of fans mixed and mingled in the city centre Russia will be the same Sol Campbell said fans will come back in coffins from Ukraine. I went, and had the time of my life. Sure, we were offered a fight but our group turned it down and we had a beer with one of them. Quite surreal But it's all scare mongering bull shit. I'm sure if you want it you'll certainly get it but they'll be fan zones and ridiculously high security, possibly similar to Ukraine. I recall just outside a fan zone entrance in Kyiv, hidden away was MASSES of riot police geared up every morning incase of any issues. We had one minor issue with a Sweden fan in a bar, within 2-3 minutes riot police stormed the place and restored order. Putin and organisers will want it to pass off peacefully and smoothly. If I could I'd probably go. But not sure I can get away with "just off out to get some milk babe" then get a flight to Russia 😂
