He's a good shot stopper(generally), but he has too many clangers in him. I know Begovic fucked up yesterday, but I think he was better for us than Jack. I realise that won't be a popular view. He's easily been the least good of the main 3 keepers we've had in our PL time. *He being Butland btw In mitigation, he's had less protection than the others, I guess.

He has and he's a bit younger and he will probably have a much better career than the other two too. But I'd have had Bego back this summer gone in an instant.

Yes Jack made a mistake but; Having just rewatched it on MOD, Cheapo makes no attempt to get to and prevent the cross. He is actually slowing down for the last ten yards of his so called covering run.
Why Lambert sticks with him and not Ramadan is beyond my comprehension.

Ok this is going nowhere. So carry on. Interested to know your opinion on the 3 blinding saves he made in the last 15 minutes to secure the 1 point we had left after he'd thrown 2 away with his mistake? Pretty routine for most keepers in this league tbh. He'd be annoyed if he had let them in. But if he were as 'woeful' as you suggested he would have let those pretty routine efforts in because 'woeful' would tend to suggest he is unable to perform the routine tasks we would expect from an routinely average goalkeeper. Don't you agree? PS 'woeful' to me was the performance of Haugaard and Given before we put Grant in 18 months ago.

His head hasn't been focussed on his game this season and that's shown in his performance.

Jack is a great keeper who at the moment is no where near playing up to his considerable potential.
He's not been the same since his injury and this seasons woes have certainly not helped him. However his stock has definitely fallen.
Yesterday was down to him. Not only was it a routine save his positioning was crap as well. Does that make him shit? of course not but for me he's been very average since his injury.

It is also my opinion that I'm right and you're wrong on this subject

He needs to up his game considerably.

It was simply your use of the word 'woeful' to describe his overall performance this season I objected to.

Lets not have page after page over this mistake. My god he has kept us in game after game since he came into the side. Its a mistake. Time to back him, show our support and pick up his confidence. Too late, when a thread is started about another negative problem it goes on for pages. When a positive thread is started it's lucky reach 3 pages, football fans are turning into victor meldrews.

I cant believe what I read on here sometimes! I'll repeat what I said yesterday when watching the game. He made a mistake and it wont be his last but I'll give him that one because we've been winning this year and he's saved us from dropping to a draw and when we've been drawing he's kept us in games and prevented losses. If it wasn't for Jack our points tally would be worse than it is. Ok he cost us yesterday but he's earned us more than he's cost us!
And for the record even the best make mistakes Bego yesterday and De Gea today let one straight through him. But you won't see this tripe spouted at De Gea by United fans,

Sadly not for us next season Regardless of of our what league we are in SGS I agree, I think for the sake of his career he will have to move on. Regardless I still think he has the potential to be one of the best keepers in the prem for the next decade & I think he's been a model professional for the few years he's been here. Fingers crossed we keep him but if he goes Grant has shown he's more than capable of stepping up. We've not had a bad keeper since we've been promoted I don't think (as #1). Almost certain Jack will be gone in the summer. Grant did well deputising while Butland was injured but that’s almost 12 months since now! Could he still do it??????? One thing’s for sure .... Haugaard is utter tripe ....... and despite his salary of just £10,000 a week, shouldn’t be anywhere near a PL club

Fuck me, we would be dead and buried without him. As fans we have some right tits. I have read Shaq is shit, Jack is shit all the players are shit. No wonder we could be going down. Some are trolls, some are childlike and some are just numbnuts.

Butland has been below the standard that he probably expects from himself this season, but to describe him as "woeful", is positively Bayernesque!
