There were hints of an understanding yday as well Make no mistake jese is a class act and i think berahino sees someone with whom he can click on the pitch in jese (possibly off it as well) I live in hope - what have we got to lose ??!! I don’t see why Berahino should play. Again yesterday he offered nothing. There seems to be a force field that prevents him getting into good positions and again it was clear he was no pace or anything else that a top level striker needs. Jese should play out wide if he plays imo. Bad attitude but offered more than Choupo so wouldn’t be against him or Ramadan having a run. If you actually watched the game in the first half there was no linkage of play between the midfield and the forwards except for stupid hopeful long balls. The improved second half performance was down to Berahino and Jese. In the second half we moved the ball much better and we were able to get midfield players actually run passed forwards. Berahino and Jese should be absolute certainty. They have never been on the pitch together since that wonderful goal against Arsenal. That in its self is ridiculous. In the meantime we have had to endure Crouch or Diouf. Rank bad management!

Thats how we have to play imo Clearly there is an understanding between them You have to be brave in the desperate situation we are in Playing crouch or diouf up front is not going to save us Playing this card of desperation might just do the trick Berahino is finished imo. That performance at Coventry did it for me.And the attempt at a shot when he just fell over on Saturday rubber fuckin stamped it.

Everyone needs to get this false hope out of their head that Berahino offers something. By It's utterly baffling. Begs the question of how long it sometimes takes for fan's to stop living in denial. 'Lampard and Gerard can't play together' took a decade. 'jack Wilshire won't be Iniesta' took similar for some. 'palacios isn't coming back' took about 2yrs. Would make a good thread, cos I think we've all hung on to hope longer than we should have sometimes. My original was Hoddle for England.

Everyone needs to get this false hope out of their head that Berahino offers something. Berahino is just not interested in professional football You can't make someone be a footballer if they dont want to be With a real footballer they save their attitude for when they cross the white line at 5 to 3 Berahino is just not wired that way. From 3 till 5 on a saturday afternoon he is as quiet as a mouse Its only when he is well away From the bet 365, that his attitude comes out

Could have opened the floodgates. So then Rog, you'd have given what looked like our most important penno of the decade to a player who missed his only attempt for the club, who hasn't scored for an eon, who hasn't been in the side, and who has had all the confidence knocked out of him. As a percentage call that makes absolutely no sense. And if he had taken and missed the storm would have made the current mutterings about Charlie look like a light breeze. Words (almost) fail me on here sometimes...

How about... Positives (admittedly not resounding ones): Jese and Shaq can create things (but Shaq needs more time on the ball), Diouf gets himself a chance a game, Bauer good, Sobhi energy, N'Diaye energy, Zouma Physical Negatives: swamped in MF with Allen, lack of pace/penetration up front, lack of energy, goalscoring Dementers: Fletcher and Beharinho. They are gone in this picture. We'd pick Lambert before these. Team as below. Players [1], [2], and [3] instructed that they will be replaced after 45, 60 and 70 mins, injuries permitting, so to run like hell to that point to keep energy at max in team. 1 Butland RB Bauer, CB BMI, CB ShawX, LB Stifilidis RMF Sobhi, CM Zouma[3], CM N'Diaye, LMF Jese[1] CAM Shaq CF Diouf[2] [1] replaced with ECM [2] replaced with Campbell [3] replaced with Cameron (or Allen) Other subs: Grant, Pieters, Allen, Crouch Benefits: raised energy, four threats on goal - Diouf, Jese, Shaq and Sobhi. Subs offer options. Jesus Christ Almighty, wtf r u blabbering on about.

When forwards are moving well and occupying defenders the space opens up for good players such as Jese. Unfortunately Berahino does not only carry his own weight around with him. He carries the weight of every so called "Stoke Supporter" who wants instant success. This player has been condemned by many for a long time and yet he has hardly been given a real opportunity with good players. Giving Shaqiri, Jese and Berahino the opportunity to forage is our best hope of avoiding relegation!

He was never in the right place at the right time save for once when he fell on his arse. Instant success doesn't come into it, he's been here over a year, he doesn't look remotely like a Premier League striker, or the player he used to be, he isn't even fit. He has no impact whatsoever. What grounds are there for saying he's our 'best hope' of anything?

No major problem there with the obvious Cameron Ndiaye and Allen behind. Choupo would have more impact coming on later in the game.

Diouf and Crouch are both miles better options, and that speaks volumes about Berahino's contribution so far.

Jese is also a better player given freedom to move. Isn't that what I meant when I said a "fluid"" three. Any idiot who can't see that Crouch and Diouf are just not good enough are not worth arguing with. Sorry for my arrogance but I am correct. Just watch a role model side like Man City play and you will see offensive methods that any team should aspire to. Gone are the days of rigid formations that defenders find easy to master. In Shaqiri and Jese we have players who can create and score. I have watched Berahino play since he was ten years of age and he is a goal scorer. The best one we have available at the moment. I say that with every respect for Crouch who was a good striker. Sometimes effort is just not good enough!

What makes you think that we should persist with someone who hasn't scored in his past 46 appearances and 2 seasons of football... TWO YEARS... When both Crouch and Diouf have indeed scored more than one goal in the past two years at the same level??? I don't get it? Also, looking at Man City as an example is great if you have the financial power to buy the best attacking players in Europe if not the world, however if you haven't noticed, instead of De Bruyne - who is genius by the way - Sane, Silva and Aguerro we have Adam, Choupo-Moting, Shaqiri and Diouf. To suggest we should be playing the same style with completely different style players is ludicrous surely?

Shaqiri and (if he gets to his potential) Jese are enough. We could do with a number 10ideally but not happened. What is pointless is us trying to sit back and randomly hoof the ball. We have the players to pass our way into the box but they don't seem to have the movement in midfield or the will to try and play nice football. Look at our goals vs Huddersfield, both came from passing moves. In particular, we were awful in that game until the Allen goal, which was the first attempt we made to pass the ball and play football.

Come again? That's the one thing that literally defines the term? Berahino hasn't looked like scoring when he's been on the pitch, even against the mighty Coventry and Bury. Again, what exactly are you basing this on?
