When ya mum edits your Wiki page:
Though the Greeks are famed for their stout, physical defenders in the mold of Kostas Manolas and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, and rough-and-tumble holding midfielders like Giannis Maniatis, Stafylidis is very much a more modern full-back. Rather that sitting back, defending and calling it a day at the office, he is very much a left-back who loves bombing forward. The Greek international is a very well rounded full-back, with strong technical ability on the ball. Not only is he quite capable of influencing proceedings further forward through overlapping runs or fierce long shots, but his strength in reading the flow of a match to patrol the passing avenues as well as challenge in the air, truly make him an all-around threat for any opponent he faces off against

At the very least gives us two viable options at left back in a back four as in my opinion despite the flak on here Pieters is OK in that defensive system and the 4 2 3 1 with Shakiri or Ireland as 10 should be the way we set up. If this is a goer then we need a defensive shield and a goal scorer

Choupo is done for me mate.
Ramadan would be there for the rest of the season as far as I'm concerned with Diouf on the right, both are far more prepared to help their full backs out.
That's what you'd have to play mate. And of course I'm not the kind of person who would drag up old posts of you questioning Diouf's worth out wide which is lucky for you
No fair play mate.
I've already credited you earlier in the season for that shout, I hold my hands up but I'd still be looking to prioritise that position in the summer.
If we don't bring a striker in, then reluctantly, I'd play Shaqiri on the right, Ireland as the number 10 and Diouf up front.

Butland Bauer Shawcross Martins Indi NEW LB (Staphylidis) Allen NEW DM Ramadan Shaqiri Choupo Moting NEW STRIKER Bench: Grant Zouma Pieters Ireland Cameron Diouf Crouch .....I prefer this
As I've said further up mate, Monday was the last straw for me with Moting, I'd play Diouf and Ramadan either side of Shaqiri because they're both far more prepared to help out their full backs, although I'd obviously be targeting right wing in the summer.
Butland
Bauer Shawcross Bruno Stafylidis
Allen NEW
Diouf Shaqiri Ramadan
NEW
That would still be four new first team players in total in the January window.
Well the only thing I would say is that Choupo is better out wide than Diouf offensively, and maybe Lambert can coach him to track back / work harder defensively. He did say he would have us attacking and defending as a team. Diouf can't be coached to be a better wide player.

Only messing mate Diouf sure has hell isn't perfect but when you're under the cosh away at Anfield or the King Power later on in the season I'd much rather have him there than a Shaqiri or a Choupo Moting. Basically I'm happy with either system as long as Shaqiri is more central and the defence isn't exposed by lack of assistance to the full backs and an old man sitting in front of them. What's encouraging is that the general feeling is that Lambert knows that as well, the question is can he get the new personnel in in time and can he get them working harder......

Of course. But don't expect Choupo Moting to help out defensively if he's one of the wide players which exposes us away from home. At our place I wouldn't be against that.....

Couldn't agree more mate. Someone mentioned on here after Monday's match that Choupo looks and plays like a waiter from a fancy coffee shop. Didn't break sweat the other night. Spent more time chatting with Pogba than earning his keep. He was a free transfer for a reason and can go asap for me.

Yeah fair play, I guess it's swings and roundabouts, I'd also put Diouf's pace going forwards in the plus column.
At the end of the day, we are desperately lacking in that position.

What's disappointing is that he clearly has the tools to be a real asset, but go back as far as Gerry McMahon you can teach a lot of things but if the heart and desire isn't there.......

The FCA confirmed: Stafylidis will not be training today On loan, the Greek international should join in the second half of the season in acute descent England English club until the end of the season. As a transfer FC Augsburg, where the player is under contract until 2019, will receive 600,000 euros. This is reported by Greek media. And after information from our editorial team a change is imminent. As our editors have learned, the defender will train with Stoke today.
Stafylidis' advisor is overcast - but FC Augsburg confirms that Stafylidis will not be in training. As justification, the club says nothing. At Stoke City, Paul Lambert replaced former coach Mark Hughes a few days ago. The former Borussia Dortmund player visited the training ground in mid-October to visit his former team-mate and current FCA manager Stefan Reuter. At the time, the Scot, who at the time was free from the United States, may not have known of any possible involvement with Stoke - but it would not be detrimental for a potential transfer to know each other well. Stafylidis has already played one season in England As obvious, however, it seems that the absence of course has something to do with the change on the island. On the island Stafylidis has already played a season: In the season 2014/15 he was loaned by his then club Bayer Leverkusen to second division FC Fulham. In the second English league Stafylidis was then regular players, came to 38 league and six cup games. Then came the return to Germany and the change to FC Augsburg. He has since played in 47 games for FC Augsburg
