I don't know if Eddie was part of the problem or could be part of the solution. But that interview was a total breath of fresh air.

Exactly what i said to my old man. It was nice to hear an honest approach instead of the same monotone bullshit being spouted every week Can't you practice what you preach? Same could be said for you

Please watch the interview on the Stoke site. Eddie comes accross as a really sincere guy who is making every effort for the club. We should keep him as long as possible.

He was emotional after the game and spoke professionally. If he does move on as the last Mark Hughes employee then closure was peaceful which will help the transition for everyone concerned. He needs a pat on the back for setting the team up so well last night.

First half was certainly encouraging. Never in the game in any way in the second ,though, were we? Dunno if it's just our appalling fitness levels, but we didn't lay a glove on them. Okay overall. Diouf should have scored. Brilliant first touch and that was it.

As poor as we were in the 2nd half (which was as much fitness as anything else) I thought overall he and the team did a reasonable job considering the situation. I thought his presser was good to.

Maybe it's time for Hughes to have a fresh start with a new backroom team? Please watch the interview on the Stoke site. Eddie comes accross as a really sincere guy who is making every effort for the club. We should keep him as long as possible. It's great that extended highlights are up already - how quickly does that happen after Saturday games? Sometimes I miss matches and MotD and try to avoid the score until MotD is on the iPlayer on Monday or Tuesday.

Seemed quite hurt by the defeat. Not a clue about his coaching input tbh., although the team made a good fist of the game considering.*
Looks to be a straight, genuine & decent fella.
All of which counts for nothing sadly in the modern game.
Maybe not so at Stoke.
Hope there's a spot if he wants it.
* that we have been woeful.

I was at the match last night and was encouraged by what I saw. We did not go there to park the bus and there were some good passages of play. The players' attitude seemed more positive. Obviously there are things to work on (finishing, fitness) but there were fewer sloppy passes. We cannot match Man U. for quality of play as from the likes of Pogba, Lukaku and Martial but if we play like that in our upcoming home games we ought to get results. Up the Potters!

I don't normally bother with these interviews because they are so often boringly predictable. But I thought that was refreshing for its insight and honesty. I don't recall ever even seeing him before, let alone hearing him, but on the very limited basis of that interview, I hope he stays.
