Is P Lambert in charge tonight or just observing in the stands ? It is quite interesting to wonder how does a new manager take over a egsisting squad and make an impact. . A tough job. Does it start pre KO, half time or Tomorrow morning ? He needs to be in the dug out for his sake. Hiding away wont make him any more popular.

Will Lambert have the balls to be in the dug out or will he skulk in the stand thinkig this ones not on my record? Disgusting appointmnet by the board dripping of desperation but hell go up a notch if he on the line tonight. Got to face the shit may as well start tonight. He doesn't take charge until tomorrow so he won't be in the dugout. Why should this one be on his record ,irrespective of the result ?

Regardless of the good work from Rooster and Eddie this week PL has to brief, motivate and pick that team tonight. It's his arse on the line now. The idea he starts tomorrow is simply not true. So set 'em up PL and make them show you they deserve a place on Saturday. So if we lose 15-0 you're ready to sack the manager? how do you deduce that from what I wrote?

Interesting. Hughes parting shot was several players weren't worthy of playing at Coventry. Perhaps now Hughes has fucked off, Eddie calling the shots as he knows what's been going on. Everyone will have a clean slate as of tomorrow so again, it'll be up to Saido to sort himself out. Great to see Tymon on

Welcome to the new era, Crouch starting up front. I fucking love the guy, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI.

I like the look of the team. Not sure Shaq should be on the right but then again... Going forward Bauer bombing past him might work. Ireland is decent on the ball so hopefully we can do some damage!
Cmon Stoke, pull something out the fire!!

Surprised to see Ireland but management maintained he worked hard so happy for him. Hopefully can link up well with the wide men.
Come on Stoke.

Wonder if Lambert has had any input into team selection tonight..... It's his team. He's got a direct line to the bench tonight. Didn't you know?

Wonder if Lambert has had any input into team selection tonight..... No, I think the fact that Ireland is playing means that Lambert has had no input to tonight's team selection.

From the Guardian:
Hello world!
There should be no problem with motivation for this one: Manchester City have finally lost a game, so tonight United have the chance to set the title chase alight by reducing the gap at the top of the table to just 12 points! And everyone’s playing for their places, with Alexis Sánchez expected to turn up and steal someone’s spot any day now. Meanwhile Stoke will have new manager Paul “I am Bert” Lambert sitting in the stands watching his new side as Eddie Niedzwiecki and Kevin Russell take charge of the team, the players knowing that he has already delivered to a wowed boardroom what Peter Coates called “a clear plan of how he would improve our results”, wondering if they were included in his virtuoso PowerPointsmanship and hoping to crowbar themselves into his thinking if it didn’t. Plus they’re playing at Old Trafford, so there’s also that. And they’re not being managed by Mark Hughes any more, a fact that has certainly lifted my spirits as a neutral who is occasionally professionally obliged to watch Stoke, and must surely have an even greater impact on those who are permanently professionally obliged to play for them.
Ouch!

Surprised to see Ireland but management maintained he worked hard so happy for him. Stoke are looking to sell Ireland, even before Hughes was sent away, so he's in the team to be able to persuade potential buyers.
