Happy with the clean sheet and point. Ignore him. Always angry, entitled and over opininated and not to forget right about everything of course. For someone who alludes to slaying carps maybe he should get the rods out more often as he seriously need to chill the fuck out. Right about everything ! no right about the situation and it's causes yes most certainly, I am chilled thanks you however seem a little uptight duck.

Happy with the clean sheet and point. Well there you go then, some people are easily pleased as they say crack on mate. And some are clearly dillusional. Your posts always make you sound like a petulant toddler in the middle of a tantrum If watching stoke makes you miserable I suggest getting back to the fishing fella, enjoy your life and chill out it's short and non of us get out alive.

Bloody good job he signed before, not after, the game! He better be Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes all wrapped into one super-duper human form, as we need some sort of celestial intervention in the middle of the park. He doesn’t need to that good...at least he doesn’t have to in order to be better than Fletcher. In fact he could be pretty mediocre and still be better than Fletcher

Come to think of it, I have a pot plant in the corner of my office which would run him a close second!

Looks like he's got a Newcastle United jersey on under his jacket... a back-up plan in case the Stoke deal fell through, followed by a mad rush up to Geordie Land?!?!

Maybe but one sad bastard who knows what he is talking about, happy with that were you ? A striker wouldn't have changed anything in that game. I 'll happily remind you we have outscored 8 other teams in this league 7 of them on the bottom half of the table. But we didn't outpoint a team last night, a striker may have done that for us.

This thread is only 32 pages long. Must get up to 80/100 over the course of a long day tomorrow, and this will be our lot. Only hope is the Lambert magic with the current boys. Well it was drawn out, it was our lot, and any magic was a little dulled

Was surprised to see him at HT, hadn't checked up on the t'internet, I presume the work permit is all sorted then ? Yes it is sorted and to be honest under the latest rules (awarding "points" for salary, transfer fee etc.) it would have been very odd if he hadn't qualified as he only failed to qualify automatically by a few points. The bizarre thing for me is the weird immigration rules which meant that he arrived for his medical on a visitors' visa but then had to fly back to France (by private jet?) whilst the club appealed for the work permit. That is bloody stupid and a waste of money, time and a loss of dignity. I suppose it is some comfort that even millionaires have to go through the same stupid system that the average worker has to go through but quite why the work permit appeal couldn't happen whilst he was still in the UK on a visitors' visa escapes me.

Because we are useless at buying players yet again Scholes lets stoke down!! get rid now before the next transfer window!! You guys are serious about this as well aren't you? Honestly, Galatasaray are apparently entitled to 15% of any profit (not fee) from selling on a £14m signing, and a 27-year old at that. To put that in context, if we got £20m for him as we did for Arnie, which is unlikely, then Galatasary would pocket all of £900,000. If this clause ever did manage to make a significant difference then Badou N'Diaye would have turned out to be one of our most inspired signings ever! If you're that desperate to have a moan and last night's terrible game isn't enough excuse for you then I'm sure the collective hissy fit about us not signing a striker and so condemning ourselves to certain relegation will still be going. You'd be on safer ground with that one. Not very safe, bearing in mind we haven't had a reliable goal scorer in 10 years as a Premier League club and have outscored most of our relegation rivals so far this season, but it would at least make you look less silly than this one.

Taking the piss? Nah. When you have people telling you these aren't put into deals like this it needs to be mentioned. We would have made more money on the Bego deal and it would have been ideal for Fonz's move. But it doesn't happen so TT gets away with another one.

With N'Zonzie, I agree we would have been better off with a sell-on clause, and indeed a fee closer to his true value. However, we were over a barrel with his contract running down and basically no competition to Sevilla for his signing. I guarantee that if we'd decided to play hard ball and ended up letting him leave on a free transfer then there would be AT LEAST as much criticism on here for that decision, probably far more, than there is now. I can't say as I remember much discussion of the Begovic one but yes, we should have had a clause there. Though be honest, 15% of the profit, to take a particularly relevant example, would hardly have been life changing would it?
Both of which are from several years ago and have absolutely zero relevance to an incredibly mild and insignificant clause inserted into the contract for our own recent signing. As for people apparently telling you that sell-on clauses don't exist, really? Really...?

I've asked this before and got nowhere (the stock answer is simply "we should've put a sell on clause in the deal"), but give me an example of a Premier League club selling a player in their late-20's with 12 months left on their contract and securing a sell on clause.

I take it you mean let him run his contract down & let him go on a free (i.e. a year later than when he actually left)? However the issue with that is you can only do that if said player is still going to 'put a shift in' Nzonzi would surely have downed tools

Surely it's not impossible if the player's price is significantly undervalued. This is certainly the case as Sevilla rate him at at least 35m. He has been decent for Sevilla but not spectacular so it's hard to justify such an increase in value in a short time unless his price from Stoke was undervalued. It's all about negotiation and we are not good at it that's for sure and I am convinced we didn't get anywhere near the best deal for arguably our best player
