Completely missed this, apologies probably mentioned but can’t see anything. Sky reporting West Ham after him. Surely we wouldn’t let him go?

Apparently we turned down a bid. Doubt we'd let a player like that go from our midfield. He's not a flair player either so Hughes and the board will keep him.

As bad as our situation is, Joe Allen puts in a shift and appears to care about earning his money.
Him leaving would be a cluster fuck of enormous proportions.

Presumably you missed them saying that Stoke don't want to sell him and that West Ham will find it difficult to sign him this month? Nope. The report says they remain keen, stoke say they won’t sell. If a club had said that and never sold the player then I might believe it, otherwise like I was trying to gauge opinion, they wouldn’t sell would they?

We need battlers at the moment, and Joe is one of the few we have got. Fuck off West Ham.

Sell him and we'd go from a team with hardly any midfield to one with no midfield at all. He's the only midfielder at the club who would get anywhere near a start in any other Prem. team.

Am I the only person who sees Allen as the acquisition that sent us into regression?
I know he is one of the hardest workers on the pitch right now but when he first came, I thought he would be a holding midfielder and he's never managed it too well. He got pushed up to Bojan's role and put his nose out of joint and he was never much use up there either. I'm still not really sure what he is. He's not a playmaker and he doesn't stop the opposition much either, but he does run around a lot.

How many midfielders has Hughes signed in his time here, and they are all a crock of shit.

You're right to a point, I disagree that he doesn't stop the opposition much, he quite often breaks up play, but then mainly due to no movement by his teammates , quite often loses possession

20 million he will be gone Bollocks. We resisted a similar bid in the summer by Swansea flush with Siggurdson money and with the lure of returning to his home town club. We're not going to sell him now especially to West Ham.

The fact that we do now isn't due to Allen. He's not perfect, but he's far from our biggest problem.

Smacks of dirty tricks does this. Unsettling key players at relegation rivals with spurious bids. They know we're not going to sell him, especially to a team around us.

Joe Allen has been superb, his work ethic is way above most in our side at the moment ...he at least gets stuck in forcing errors from the opposition. We don’t like it when the opposition hassle us and don’t give us time on the ball, closing down the opposition and breaking the flow of play is one part of his game that’s brill imo..if he doesn’t win the ball, he doesn’t stop and give up ...he’s straight back in ....one of the few players that does look fully fit .

Allen creates the problems? Really? Look alongside him for the problem. A cart horse who is so far off the pace it’s embarrassing. The team has half a dozen problems but Allen isn’t one of them

I don’t see many stories about prem teams interested in our other midfielders. Says it all

You not think we push him further up to apply pressure on defences with the engine he as because crouch can’t do that? Plus he creates and scores. Come on Bayern I thought you knew a little bit about football.

It also means our best player for that job (number 10) can't play there. All to accommodate headless Joe.

It lead to Bojan leaving and now it could leave to Shaq leaving. Ace.
