As much as 5 0 stuffings are hard to take it may be justified if we win Monday. Anything other than three points however and that is surely that.

Yes but the point is Hughes is going to be here every home game. Lose or sack. We can't go on like this its ridiculous. He needs the sack tonight not on Monday. Ridiculous. We need a response from the players who want to prove a point because the manager is unable to get a respose from them. He's finished and should have gone weeks and weeks ago. It will turn ugly on Monday.

With the whole defence out today we had no chance, Hughes put his eggs in one basket for monday. Did anyone think we could get a point with all four first choice defenders out?? Wasn't worth risking Allen one booking away from missing Monday also.

Monday has got fuck all to do with today. You play your best side available and try and get something from every game. (Especially when you're going down the pan). I actually got the feeling for the first time during sparky's interview today that he know he's fucked up?

He’s been in the last chance saloon for about a year.
It’s like a parent that doesn’t want to discipline their child even though he’s trashed the place, pissed in the fishbowl and kicked dear old nan in the shins.

In an ideal world you always play your best side but equally you know what the uproar on here would be if Allen or Shaqiri had got injured where were risking them in a game we were never going to win etc etc And I don't believe we will sack him Monday even if we lose, he will get to the end of the season unless we are in the bottom 3 come March which I just don't see.

I think they've decided he will go at some point anyway. Even if we win on monday there will be another serious of bad performances not far away. We have an awful squad, all his expensive signings have been awful. This summer he needed to pull something out the hat with the arnie money and he signed Wimmer. I think the board will let him bring in a coupleof cheap signings for midfield and full back in january and they are hoping they don't have to sack him until the summer. Out of interest Carl what manager would you bring in if Hughes has to be sacked?

Scraps a win or draw again and we are back too, square one you can't keep having 'must win game(s)' or sooner or later you'll end up in the bottom three and after January it could well be too late to to anything and we may well drop.
Coates should have pulled the trigger after the west ham debacle but he shit out if he doesn't do it tonight it'll be too late!!!!!
I expect Swansea palace and Bournemouth to pick up sooner rather than later possibly west ham too.
We are seep in the shirt its there for all to plainly see. Coates needs to get some balls and pull the trigger as I don't trust Hughes to use any money given to strengthen correctly to survive.
Sturridge won't score just like berahino if there's no one to get the ball to him!!!

It is not acceptable, after a decade of being at this level, to basically forfeit a game before a ball was even kicked in order to target a more "winnable" game. Even if we win on Monday it in no way justifies throwing today's game.

How many more last chances does he get its getting very silly now. Coates has dithered for far to long over Hughes. Arnie was spot on with his lack of ambition statement.

I think with Hughes in charge we are gonna be relegated irregardless of what happens Monday, unfortunately unless the board has a replacement ready to step in we are stuck on this sinking ship with a clueless captain

Wasn't worth risking Allen one booking away from missing Monday also. Edwards played and as far as I am aware he will start every game this season unless we get a replacement in the window, we also had 18 million worth of talent in the centre of our defence. When Pieters gets injured and we do not have one solitary replacement for him in our entire squad - who's fault is that.

Who knows what happens behind the scenes. It is possible the board have decided that Hughes will stay in the hope that we can limp over the finishing line this season. If he does though i wouldn't expect him to have much money to waste in January.

I said on here a couple of weeks ago that I think we're stuck with him until the end of the season. If we are, then it's touch and go whether we can survive with what our Chairman thinks is our best-ever squad.

Im resigned to him being here until the summer now. Should have gone a few games ago for sure.
I think Coates has tapped up Brendan Rodgers to come here in the summer, but we need to be in the Premier League for that to happen. Playing with fire leaving Hughes in charge

I don't care if we win 5 nil on Monday, Hughes has to go, the problem is that it appears that the board has been completely negligent in their duty, in that they have no replacement lined up to take over.
Since the Spurs debacle the board should have made it their number one priority and searched high and low for a suitable replacement.
The old joke springs to mind, they used to be indecisive now they're not so sure.

They can’t sack him. The life rafts have been allowed to drift off.
They have literally no idea who could replace him.
Buckle up till May and hope for survival is the official policy.
I’m still hoping they will chuck a load of money at him knowing it’s probably wasted - it would still be better than doing nothing and maybe they’ll see it as a penance for their negligence in the summer.
Or maybe not.
