I doubt he's resigned, not many managers jump before being pushed these days. If he hasn't resigned he'll definitely be gone at the end of the season one way or another. I don't think he resigned. Sounds to me like it's been handled the same way as Pexit. This.

As with signings, I'm not celebrating anything yet unless and until it is announced. If the announcement is to come on Monday, I'm hoping that is because today is sorting out his compensation package for "resigning because it makes it look better for you than being sacked" whilst also getting a deal sorted for an immediate replacement.
When the only 'against' argument on seven pages is the same repeated argument of "who else?" and not one smidgen of actual or genuine belief that he is the right man to turn things around then you know you are fucked.

If a manager resigns doesn't he forego his contract terms
Not sure how long Hughes has left but if his contract is 2m per year and he has 2 years left, by resigning it would mean the club wouldn't pay him a penny, plus you have his sidekicks who would also be on contracts that haven't resigned. If he was sacked however then Hughes would get his money.
For the reasons above I doubt he has resigned as there are too many reasons financially and for colleagues sake that he wouldn't

Hope ur right Pugs but dont believe Hughes has resigned based upon his press conference after the match.
BUT I do believe Coates will have been shocked into action after that 2nd half performance

Like, don't get me wrong, I've wanted him gone n'all but resignation? Board should've sacked him. We'd have to pay compo...

No manager resigns these days, they hang on until they get sacked and get their pay off. Unless he’s feeling the strain and pressure and quits on health grounds of course which is doubtful as he looks about as concerned as Sammy Banghoura did...

Theres no way mark hughes would resign, it just makes him look to be out of his depth, and wouldnt get a job anywhere else. Its got to be the sacking route and i would say the players have adked for it. Not one of them could give a positive opinion about the formation yesterday.

I fucking hope so, he's become somehow more stubborn and stupid than Pulis if that was ever achievable. 3 at the back, with no midfield and square pegs in round holes for "wingbacks" with the same crouch as plan b. It's like a bastardized no defence surrender version of pulisball.

Resigned, Sacked, Mutual Consent - all adds up to the same thing.
I'm just telling you exactly what I've been told. If it's wrong then hey, I'll hold my hands up and take the abuse.
Amusing that certain 'ITKers' are giving me a hard time given their track record.

Tbf Pulis was fired but it was dressed up that it was mutual, it doesn't matter how its worded if he's gone he's gone, I've not got a clue either way tbh I'm just hoping its true.

You've hinted at contacts in the medical/sports science departments before so if Hughes has resigned, I think it's a fair assumption to make that he will say his goodbyes to them or at least mention it to them.

Either way, it's a right old mess now. We've got that doomed whiff about us - at least Palace (and other teams near the bottom) are involved in ding dong battles? We've thrown the towel in.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-angry-fans-tottenham-903829At one point they besieged the team coach and hurled furious abuse as Mark Hughes and his players were desperate to leave the area. One witness said he didn't see any violence, but admitted it was a scary atmosphere involving as many as 200 fans.
Can definitely see how something like this could potentially flip a switch with someone who really is rich enough to not need the hassle.

Surely it wouldn't be because of a handful of drunk fans? Wasn't a handful mate. Hundreds waited outside, as they got wind that the team was on the train. Whoever was involved should be ashamed. It's not the right way to go about things. What is writing hundreds of polite letters to Coates to consider Hughes position Or maybe printing thousands of red cards for the next home game Supporters had just probably got little change out or a hundred pounds had a bloody long day and watched a load of highly paid mercenaries showing no pride in the shirt How would you react

At first I thought it was him being his usual kinky self but Hughes getting the chop seems more likely.

Can definitely see how something like this could potentially flip a switch with someone who really is rich enough to not need the hassle. FM I don’t think he should go now re 2 games imminent in the next week? Players morale low, no manager etc. Get through the two games first and decide then? If he has resigned then I for one would be annoyed given the timing as above? I think he should go but it seems we have no replacement available so don’t see what we gain until we have a manager ready to go? And by the way not Pulis for goodness sake?!!!
