Problem is those are the very MPs which Starmer has been removing the whip from or removing from selection for the next election. I think it’s a shame that people at the extremes of Tory and Labour don’t sit down together and figure out a way to represent their constituents. In the US, there is a two party only system. AOC shouldn’t be in the same party as Biden. Jim Jordan shouldn’t be in the same party as McConnell or Romney. They stay there because otherwise they dilute the left/right vote. Wouldn’t it just be nice if the leaders of these further left/right elements sat down together and decided that they would both break away. In the past, they’ve been fearful to do so but if both sides do it at the same time, they can provide more options to the electorate without necessarily weakening their party. Seems like a common sense solution to me. As such, it will probably never get adopted. Not under a FPTP system at any rate. Believe it or not there have been numerous instances of breakaway parties forming over the last few decades. They rarely last long because they don't have the geographical popularity base you need under FPTP to get elected representatives. We have a shit electoral system in this country. It's outdated, archaic, unrepresentative and unfair.

Here he is... The oatcake's voice of the liberal (illiberal) left rushing in to save his mate from further humiliation. Well, wouldn't it be great if we saw Big Ricky Tice do just that? He's going to need a certain Big Nige to help if that's going to happen. Wouldn't it be even better if, as threatened, Big Nige seizes control of the Tory party and becomes a feasible candidate for PM? Now I would pay good money to see the reaction of you and your well to do, liberal comrades if that day were to ever come to fruition.😊 I suspect you and Ely will pipe down a lot in fairness once we get into the Starmer reign and it becomes apparent he's a disaster. Presumably you'll just continue to blame the Tory's 13 years of failure. Big Ricky Tice, Laurence Fox, DeSantis, Farage...you never know, one of your faves might get elected one day...😄 It's Lozza not Laurence, get it right 😊

They rarely last long because they don't have the geographical popularity base you need under FPTP to get elected representatives. We have a shit electoral system in this country. It's outdated, archaic, unrepresentative and unfair. FPTP benefits those in power. Labour can hold a party conference as opposition and vote for it all they like but they’ll find a way to weasel out of it when in power (especially if in power for multiple, consecutive terms). I see it as less likely to ever come in if only Labour/Conservative are the options. It’s my impression that those movements failed because it was one wing of one party pulling away. The media can then paint it as a little rebellion and it doesn’t go anywhere. Worse, it only leads to one party having some of their electorate go elsewhere. The Tea Party is a good example of that. I think that you are more likely to get legitimate change if the two extremes sit down, coordinate an exit strategy and form two independent parties at the same time. If they timed it right, the media would find it hard to simply ignore. It may even make leaders out of MPs. It’s hard to be interested in any candidate when they are just seen as mindless husks. Unfortunately, I don’t see either happening. No party in power will weaken their power, and no politician will create gains for themselves if it remotely benefits their opposition.

“In Chile, Cleverly declared that: “Climate change is the most urgent and obvious example” of the “rapidly increasing transnational threats” facing the world.” - Cleverly says after getting off a private jet. Just put MPs on a normal flight. The only person who could potentially justify something different should be the PM.

Hard not to get angry about this. Is he spending money on a phone --> Then he can fuck off Is he spending money on haircuts or dentists --> Then he can fuck off Does he not have a job? --> Then he can fuck off #ToryEconomics On NPR yesterday, there was a report about CEO to everyday employee pay ratios. Now, I have no real problem with CEO’s earning much more than the average employee of their company. I think it’s really the only way for big companies to attract the right staff in an incredibly limited pool. However, the ratios have become obscene. In the 1960’s, I believe the ratio was about 25:1. Now, the average ratio across companies is 400:1, with the largest differences being in the 5000:1 range. I can agree that CEO’s are more important to a company than a standard, everyday employee, but 5000x more important? I doubt it.

Surprised no Cruella on the front bench 🤔 hope they haven't sent her abroad to embarrass us again 🤦 Every time I watch it that baboon Gullis is up and down like a jockeys arse! Every time there's any sort of pause up he gets! Even when Sunak obviously has to answer a question and is named by the speaker 😂 There's something not quite right with that bloke.
