And you conflate Brexit with this report because? “ stalling life expectancy for men and women in England since 2010” “ among women in the poorest 10% of areas, life expectancy fell between 2010-12 and 2016-18” “ the amount of time people spend in poor health has gone up across England since 2010” But never mind, one of the others will probably be along to give you a 'like' in a few minutes.

There's not a fall in life expectancy in the UK. A report said the 'rate' of growth was "stalling". Everyone is still living longer and future generations will continue to do so. He doesn't define Stalling but the dictionary definition is; stop running, stop or cause to stop making progress, which is not the case. On the 29th October 2019 the ONS said; Baby boys born in the UK in 2018 can expect to live on average to age 87.6 years and girls to age 90.2 years, taking into account projected changes in mortality patterns over their lifetime.
In 25 years, cohort life expectancy at birth in the UK is projected to increase by 2.8 years to reach 90.4 years for boys and by 2.4 years to 92.6 years for girls born in 2043.
People aged 65 years in the UK in 2018 can expect to live on average a further 19.9 years for males and 22.0 years for females, projected to rise to 22.2 years for males and 24.2 years for females in 2043.
In 2043 in the UK, 20.8% of newborn boys and 26.1% of newborn girls are expected to live to at least 100 years of age, an increase from 13.6% for boys and 18.2% for girls born in 2018.
In comparison with the 2016-based projections, cohort life expectancy at birth is 2.6 years lower for males and 2.7 years lower for females in 2043 than previously projected.

Life expectancy has not "stopped improving". What's your comment on the report in general roger? It's a comment on society. With the usual suspects mis-quoting or quoting out of context to spin the untrue "austerity kills" tagline. When you've got chapters titled; youth crime, zero hour contracts, fuel poverty, tax and benefits and the built environment and air pollution you're definitely in areas of social and political commentary which we both know are shaped by political policy and party direction. Of course there is inequality, always has been and unfortunately there always will be. Studies like this are helpful to try and reduce those inequalities for a fairer society but this isn't the Tory scum smoking gun it's made out to be.

By election imminent..... This is not even 'yesterday's news', it is 'last decade's news'. The paper that carried this story is no longer chip paper, but has probably had long enough to decompose down to its raw, basic atoms by now. "A Conservative MP has apologised after he was filmed flashing his genitals in a pub. James Grundy dropped his trousers at a private event in the bar, with onlookers encouraging him to expose himself. The incident took place more than a decade before Grundy was elected as MP for Leigh, Greater Manchester, in 2019. He said: “I apologise for my actions and for any offence caused.” Footage obtained by LBC shows Grundy taking down his trousers and a woman can be heard asking him to lift his shirt to show his genitals. All those involved in the event, in 2007, are understood to have been over the age of 18 at the time." Guardian - Desperate News for Desperate People

What's your comment on the report in general roger? Quelle surprise Quite correct fyd. It is no great surprise that... A) you've gone running to Guido Fawkes for guidance (Guidonce?! ) on how to thinkand B) said website has tried to smear the very respected health expert responsible for writing a report which dares to point out anything that might be uncomfortable for the Tory Party So for balance, let's look at some of the far left activism that's defined the career of this dangerous Marxist. Who, like so many left wing activists before him, has been knighted by the fucking Queen . He served as President of the British Medical Association (BMA) from 2010 to 2011, and is the new President of the British Lung Foundation.
He is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, an honorary fellow of the British Academy, and an honorary fellow of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal College of Physicians. He was a member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution for six years and in 2000 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, for services to epidemiology and the understanding of health inequalities.
Marmot is a Foreign Associate Member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), and a former vice-president of the Academia Europaea. Marmot served as president of the World Medical Association for 2015–16.
Marmot is a Vice-President of the Academia Europaea, a Foreign Associate Member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), and the chair of the Commission on Social Determinants of Health set up by the World Health Organization in 2005. He won the Balzan Prize for Epidemiology in 2004, gave the Harveian Oration in 2006 and won the William B. Graham Prize for Health Services Research in 2008.[8] Marmot advises the WHO.

Yeah, right. As some of these figures go back to 2010, it looks as though it was Gordon Brown who started the ball rolling on this non-story It's a non story that people's health is getting worse, is it? No. The non-story is the spin that you have attempted to put on it that this is a “Conservative Legacy” and everyone is “knicker wetting” over Brexit while this is going on, as though the two are related.

All those ground breaking studies, awards and accolades mean nothing because Guido think he's a "leftie" therefore his integrity must have been compromised...... He is not just a leftie he is a leftie activist so yes I take with a massive pinch of salt anything contained within it, I mean lefties were happily discrediting the views of the chief rabbi as a tory based on him wishing good luck to the new pm as he always does regardless but yes lets ignore years of activism and pretend its impartial.

No. The non-story is the spin that you have attempted to put on it that this is a “Conservative Legacy” and everyone is “knicker wetting” over Brexit while this is going on, as though the two are related. The two are related, in that "Get Brexit done" was used as a catch-all slogan to deflect from, among other things, the failure of the Conservative Party to manage public health and/or the NHS.

So every report commissioned for governments past and present should be discredited based on the alleged political beliefs of the person asked? The science, the data, can't be analysed in a non-partisan way? If that's the case I look forward to his findings being discredited accurately and scientifically rather than by some crank on the internet (Paul Staines not you) I've never heard the Chief Rabbi's views on poverty and inequality over the last 10 years so can't comment on that.....

Concentrating their efforts on Corbyn and Labour who are not in power but are still the butt of jokes. The biggest joke is that many a simpleton believed what the tories said in the election. It looks a bleak future for the countries most vulnerable, for the foreseeable future.
