I’ve just recovered from belly laughing at some deluded Vale article in the Sentinel, saying that the Cowley brothers should come to Vale. Sorry boys, but the Cowleys are well above Vale’s level in their aspirations, probably waiting for a decent Championship gig to open up. Cowley Brothers 😆 They've got more chance of getting Aleister Crowley. Chuckle Brothers probably

Must’ve missed this with our current results and the Collins thread. This cheered me up, hopefully the same for you. Missed this myself, put a smile on my face. WTF is Brown doing for their 1st & 3rd, shocking goal keeping. Hilarious though. Walsall's 1st and 3rd goals are things of beauty, thank you Vales 'goalkeeper'.😂😂

Funny mind watching the meltdown. If they are relegated, can we please, please, all chip in on here and fly a plane over their ground if they get relegated? When they’re actually playing there of course.

Most of the teams below them have accumulated quite a few games in hand with Covid and weather postponements Could yet get a bit spicy for them if they pick up a few wins. 2 wins in 16 now. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-two/table

However everyone at the Wembley of the North appears to be giving it a right good go.

Our lovely neighbours aren't in a great place at the moment. The owners (however nice they seem) need to get a permanent manager in ASAP.
Having said that, with only two teams getting relegated it would take some doing for them to finish the season in the relegation places!

I’ll give it three games before they want the Shanahan’s out.

They have one win, one draw and three defeats in the last 5 matches and the teams below them have either one, two or three games in hand, I suspect a look further back would reveal a worrying trend for them. That said the teams below them are there for a reason and as the old adage goes points on the board are always preferable to games in hand. I think it will take a spectacular collapse even by their standards for other teams to overtake and drop them through the trap door and out of the league and I still expect them to continue being a blot on the landscape of our city next season.

I’ll give it three games before they want the Shanahan’s out. There's already a few that are questioning the competence of the owners. Football is a fickle place at the best of times, but Vale fans seem to love being in a state of perpetual chaos 😂

Can't let this disappear now they are hovering on the edge.Started this thread nearly 4 years ago and all the time they are getting closer to non-league football. They have 3 home games in a week now,Oldham,Bolton and Newport. The last 2 are in the play-off positions at the moment.Could do with Grimsby and Southend putting a run together to further pile the pressure on them. They have Grimsby away in their penultimate game.

This could happen, both Grimsby and Barrow have 2 games in hand over Vale which could drag them into the bottom 2 with Sarfend.

Similar comments may have been made in the first 64 and a half pages of this thread - I am not going to trawl through them to check - but the thing that strikes me is how odd it is that neither Vale nor Crewe have been relegated to the Conference/National League given the number of similar-sized clubs such as Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Mansfield and Chesterfield who have gone into non-League, not to mention some 'bigger' clubs - Lincoln, Grimsby, Bristol Rovers, Notts County and Orient spring to mind - who have gone down.
That said, I am probably in a bit of a minority on this board in hoping they stay up!

Why not? I haven't lived in Stoke for over 45 years and don't 'hate' them.
They do play in and represent Stoke-on-Trent after all.
If others want them to go down, that's fine. It makes no difference what we want.

It makes no difference what we want. Do you have to hate them to take pleasure in them going down? I wouldn't necessarily wish them out of business but them playing at the lowest level feasibly possible would be great for us. The fewer people that support them the stronger our own club will be as a result.

It makes no difference what we want. They don't carry the Stoke-on-Trent name in their title. You'll struggle to find a Vale banner or flag with the name of the city they play in on it. They represent Stoke-on-Trent as much as Bolton Wanderers do.

That is because there is a club with 'Stoke' in their title!
I doubt if Everton flags include the name 'Liverpool' for the same reason but their club still represents the city.
