Of Tartan Tregarth Chester Barnes (assistant trainer to David Pipe) gives the low down on all the Pipe horses and some other tips every day in the Racing Post. He says this today:
Tartan Tregarth is a 16/1 chance and would also have to show better form to win this. Rosies Glory is in good form and could win at a reasonable price.
He does think that the Pipe horse in the first had a good chance (even though rain would be better)

Off to Epsom in a few minutes for a profitable day out backed Light Shift all the way in the Oaks last year - thanks Henry, but can't call it this year. Maybe a dabble on Cape Amber for a place , thought it ran on well at York and looks as if it needed further. Frankie's in the 1.40 looks to be an interesting sort on last years form.

epsom looks a bastard to me but then I never do very well on the flat anyway.
I've had a few shekels on Anna Pavlova at 65s in the 3.25...
3 from 3 at the distance, in the frame 14 from 18, goes well fresh, versatile as far as the ground goes though a bit more juice might have helped. Bit to find with the top two in the market but worth a play at the price.

Anna Pavolva is a definte each way bet today
Great horse that might just nick a place
I have had a tip for the 7.10 at Doncaster tonight from the owner. Classic Blade is around 12/1 at the moment. Get on it each-way. It should place

My mate sends me a list of horses that he thinks could go well very soon:
Here is the latest months offering
Bear in mind these are not tips, but things to bear in mind for future runs
BRENIN TARAN: 2-5 fav Class 5 Maiden 5f Yarmouth Good to Firm (6 ran) Slowly away, but racing in behind runners showing plenth of enthusiasm, switched for a run and only needed to be shaken up to put the race to bed inside final furlong. See if this one progresses further next time as promising trainer David Simcock (ex Luca Cumani assistant) touted this one, post race, as a possible for the Windsor Castle or Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot.
CAHER LASS: John Long/SJ Gray, Killarney 2m 1f Handicap Chase (Rated 84) won by 10 lengths Good to Firm Having gone very quick, stamina was not an issue with this one, obviously well suited by a strong gallop on good ground. Can take a chance at the odd fence, but well handicapped and one to follow in the short term.
COLLECTION: William Haggas 1m2f Handicap York, Rated 80 Having run poorly on seasonal debut at Doncaster (wrong ground), this one produced a phenomenal performance. Won by 2 and a half lengths going away, having run into the back of horses all the way. How the handicapper reacts now could be the key. This one could be much better than a handicapper and could be upped significantly in class.
CERITO: M Channon Bath 5f 2year old Median Auction Maiden Owned by Maggie Findlay (mum of legendary pro gambler Harry) won impressively by 6l. Surely better to come in a higher grade, possible Royal Ascot type
CUIS GHAIRE: J. Bolger Naas 6f Good Firm Dermot Weld expected significant improvement from Silver Shoon (ran green) on debut and unlucky in running as was another decent sort in the same race Beauthea, so this debut win against some decent types and others from respected yards suggests this could be another quality horse from the Bolger conveyer belt. Should stay further, beautifully bred by Galileo-Seribonia (Danehill)
WILL PUT REST ON LATER. Just going to watch Oaks before I go collecting

Padders me old fruit
Nice one mate
Inter Vision well and truly returned with interest.
Thursdays and Fridays are shit for me, because as a window cleaner I dont have any time on my hands.
Nipped in at 6.50, and Corals went 9-1, had 20 each way, took the price, and get home to find its won at 12s.
Heart fluttered a little when he dropped his hands inside last 100 yards and just rode it out
Thanxs chief
Tomorrow: Had a very strong message for Doncaster 2.35 - John Gosden trained Illusion. Any idea what its going at on Betfair?
They are expecting about 6-1 and according to my contact its their banker of the weekend

Cheers mate - the lad I spoke to today was very confident.
Anything around 9-2 I tend to go each way, as a bet to nothing, but he says this will win.
Tread careful though. Stick to level stakes and we will win money long term. His other two for 2morrow are:
3.05 Epsom: Fragrancy
and in the Derby:
Curtain Call. They think this has a lot of class, and will act on the gradients at Epsom. Stable has won the Derby before, and they think this is a better horse.
Any more news, I will post tomorrow, and as for the list of horses to look out for, will put up the rest tomorrow. They generally do pretty well.

Hi fellas
Rest of my mates monthly horses to kee an eye on
DAR RE MI:
York 1m 2f Musidora (Good to Firm) 3rd beaten 6 lengths
No disgrace going down to the hugely impressive Jim Bolger trained Lush Lashes (Oaks fav.) Noted he was bumped approaching half mile marker and wasnt totally happy on firm ground. Surely this one stays 1m 4f but doubtful will take on the winner again but I cant help feeling the trainer thinks a lot of this horse and they could travel abroad to pick up a decent prize at the back end of the season
DABARATSA:
Tor Sturgis/Marcus Foley Exeter 2m 1f Novice Hurdle (Good to Firm)
Noted given a VERY DUBIOUS RIDE. Dropping away at the fifth before staying on and finishing best of all, probably could have won but for the jockey giving it too much to do. Beaten just over 6l on return from a years absence.
EXCAPE:
D. Elsworth/Marc Halford - Windsor 1m 2f Class 5 Handicap, rated 65
Won in a quicker time than stablemate Seattle Storm (rated 76) later on the same card on firm ground
FISHFORCOMPLIMENTS:
R. Fahey/R. Hughes Ascot Victoria Cup Class 2 (Good to Firm) very competitive hdcp. Rated 97
Given a patient ride, settled rear early, brought into contention, picking off several runners without troubling the principals. 7th of 26. Could be better than a handicapper and should do well in bigger handicaps similar to the likes of Fonthill Road and Philharmonic. Needs some sort of headgear as trainer feels he still needs to mature mentally.
SUPASEUS:
York (Class 2) Handicap 1m 2 and a half f (Good to Firm). Beaten not far, 3rd of 12.
Trainer describes this one as very talented but difficult to train and complicated mentally. He ideally wants 1m or 1m 1f on a straight track. Has won in the last two seasons valuable hndicaps at Ascot and Newmarket. A decent prize defo awaits this season at some stage.
TRINITY ROSE:
Peter Bowen. 2m 3f Mares Only Novices Hurdle (Class 4). Winner out of P. Hobbs yard won by 17 lengths, however this one was 3l clear and would have hacked up had she not fallen at the last (good to firm). Fields at this time of year are not that strong so all being well since the fall, could easily pick up similar contest without a penalty for winning
US RANGER:
A.P. O Brien (York) Group 2 6f Good to Firm
Powered home too late in the day, another half furlong and would have won going away. Field split into 2 groups and the one down the centre showed the speed, leaving US Ranger in the wrong group. Having finished 7th in the 2000 G, suggesting he did not stay the mile, has now taken to sprinting. Still undecided if 6 or 7 is his best trip but AM CONVINCED HE WILL PICK UP A VALUABLE SPRINT at some time this season, possibly abroad.
ADDWAITYA:
Chris Wall: Definately one to watch in low grade handicaps. Ran in rain softened ground off 63 over 1m 2f class 5 handicap. Stayed on when race was over and expected to come further down the handicap. First run in handicap company and for 185 days. Then dropped to a mark of 60 and hence squeezed in a 46-60 handicap (good to firm) although handicapped to win, was given a poor tactical ride by Ian Mongan on a sharp track (Musselborough). Too far back, came around horses and touched off inside final furlong.
BASSINET:
J.A.R. Toller
Ran in a 1m 5f handicap for fillies (Class 5) rated 69. Ridden by Kirsty M, [ushed along early doors, brought into contention but with no room. Same could be said of winer spring Dream (Alan King) who was said to have won a shade cosily but Bassinett would definately have given the winner something to think about as she flew past the post when the race was over. Interesting.
HOWANDEVER:
D.E. Fitzgerald
Ran in 2m 6f Hdp Hdle Limerick (Good to Firm). Rated 80. First outing for 234 days, not jumped p[articularly well, fortunate as the last 2 flights were omited and stayed on 5th of 18. May want further and needs to brush up jumping, but Barry Geraghty would be a SIGNIFICANT jockey booking
VOLER LA VEDETTE:
Colm Murphy
Beaten 2l and a neck in a Punchestown bumper to two well touted individuals, finishing fastest of all. Sure to win a bumper soon
WELLS LYRICAL:
Brian Smart
Ran in a 1m 4f maiden (Class 5). Looked well held until flashing home to finish 3rd behind strong and worthy favourite Icon Project. Watch very closely as trainer feels this one will improve when stepped up in trip even further
INTREPID JACK:
Hughie Morrison
Ran absolute cracker on return from injury at Haydock (G to F) Class 2 hndicap off 102. Ridden by Ryan Moore beaten an ever diminishing nostril in fast time. Coming from well behind, flew home and trainer has Wokingham in mind which he was just beaten off 2lbs lower on unsuitable ground.
THATS IT FOR THIS MONTH FELLAS
If you are serious racing fans and follow form properly, these are serious horses to follow. Of course, not all will win, but my mate has been in the game a long time, and generally I profit year after year following his monthly bulletins.

Not set the world on fire this season has he yet - Johnston
He is one of those trainers I just cannot get to grips with
Says every horse he runs tries yet gets some serious odds on shots beaten
Thanks again for Classic Blade.
The monthly newsletter I get does pretty well generally, but is for the serious racing fan, not just someone who wants a 10-1 winner for a quick fix.
You are well informed and knowledgeable, so watch out for them, and read the form, trust to your own knowledge and you wont go far wrong m8

Sorry about Illusion
Nothing can be done when the going changes from Good to Firm to Good to Soft because of heavy morning rain
Hope you took this into account but he said Banker of the weekend, so get it in a notebook and wait for the ground to be right. Convinced you will see a different horse.
Happened with this stable last year. I was on Nannina for the Guineas ante post at 16s downwards for a small fortune. Pissed it down day before race, couldnt go on soft, but came out and walked away with a big mile race when the going came right. No compensation for what I would have won though
Padders - bob on again mate
Ran a very good race under top weight, coming back for more once headed inside the last. Game performance. Got 11-4, and had a decent bet.
thanks have a karma

Yeah it ran a cracker, especially once headed. Typical Mark Johnston horse. I was always confident it was going to come back.
Tonight My Learned Friend at Lingfield in the 8.10 is my tip of the night. Currently trading around 5/2 Fav. Really fancy it!
