I thought Hughes didn't fancy him? He doesn't, but Rafa loves him.

Good business by the club. Now let's give the lad a run of games and see if he steps up to show what he's capable of. He's shown plenty of early promise, and he deserves the opportunity earn himself a starting spot.

I thought Hughes didn't fancy him? Let's hope it's not like the new extended contract Bojan signed the week before Hughes decided he was no longer first choice.

Odd. He signed for five years when he joined so he's signed a one year extension, one year into a five year contract.
A suspicious man might suggest its a bit of cynical diversion ahead of going into the new season on the back of the piss poor dealings we've had so far. You know something for Scholes to chops on about on radio Stoke later.

This reeks of "let's divert from bad news". "Fucking hell another week and more transfers pissed up the wall, what should we do?!.. quick, quick give Sobhi's agent a ring and see if he wants a new contract" .. sounds legit.

I thought Hughes didn't fancy him? That was just idiots on here mis quoting / assuming Hughes quotes regarding him. I think this is a statement that he is held in the highest regard and is clearly a player we see as a crucial part of our future. So, give him a nice big pay rise, longer contract, which means when the time comes that he goes on to bigger and better things, we get a rather large fee. Congrats Ramadona!

It doesn't sound legit how its come out either. Probably an automatic trigger based on his appearances in his first season.

Amazing how Stoke fans can turn a piece of good news in to a negative event. With transfer prices going through the roof, players turning around after a year into their contract wanting out, ect., it doesn't surprise me that Stoke want to secure him, my guess, with a huge release fee. Especially after bring in Choupo, I guess his representative have expressed concern on his status.
