Fostoff, welcome back JD Ah! Krakow, you say, yes, I know it well, having spent time there + Warsaw in November 2006 and switched, for the duration, to glasses of the Russian stuff - and divine it was, too, as was the food, especially those deee-lish little Pierogi dumplingette things they do so well. Got loads of recipes for them since the trip but haven't tried making them yet. Nice to know that the locals still remember one's visit, btw! Did you go to the National Museum and see the fab LdV painting 'Lady with an Ermine'? Knocks spots off the poxy Mona Lisa (which I've always hated). Let's watch this space, team! Rah rah rah! Thanks Murph. I can pronounce myself as unfit as ever (how do you pull a muscle in your buttocks whilst asleep on an airplane??? Actually could have been the jolt when I woke up and saw how many little bottles of champers that Mrs Q had necked in the hour I'd been asleep). However, I'm available for the team as ever, if called upon in due course.
We didn't get to the national museum, but it's on the list for next time as Mrs Q wants to go again in May next year. And the opera too - we were staying very near there on the north edge of the city and the modern opera building looks amazing. Aside from our two trips to Kenya, we both thought it the best holiday we've ever been on.
Up the Mighty EEFC (in abeyance). And it's great news to hear that Mellors' long botttom is in fine fettle.
All an excellent account of the travels, JD. Forgot to ask you if you'd tried any retail therapy in the Cloth Hall? I regularly shopped till I dropped, especially for amber jewellery. I'll see if I can still find a note of a couple of truly excellent eating places I went to in Krakow & send you the gen before your next visit. Your EEFC availability status has also been noted. Good egg. Please do a few light exercises every day, stay enthusiastic and keep your kit at the ready. We await the boss's decision re. the next fixture and the call could come at any time.Yes, the long bottom is indeed in fine fettle, although admittedly being a tad less impressive now the colder weather is upon us.

Been doing a few jogs up and down the beach (mainly to the bar) but fitness should be well up to last year's level in readiness for "the call".
Looking forward to getting back to normal temperatures as it's been about 28 to 30 here for the past 2 weeks 😩

Cheers Murph. We found a couple of fabulous restaurants near the opera house. Michelin star quality food, polish portion sizes and polish prices. £40 for two 3-course meals including wine (and the wine was 50% of the bill).
Yes, we did a lot of retail therapy in the Cloth Hall (what a fabulous building!). I bought Mrs Q's 50th birthday presents there (some crystal glasses and a crystal decanter, leather handbag and purse). Mrs Q doesn't like amber but we bought some amber jewelery for a friend's upcoming 50th.
I've been keeping the training ticking over. A couple of nights of pierogi and vodka since our return. Mrs Q was on a late shift last night so I fancied a change in routine and plumped for fish finger butties (with mustard) and four cans of Zywiec. I'm fit as a butcher's sloth, me.
As for Mellor's receding long bottom, Mrs Q recommends a healthy application of horse liniment to warm the regions

Lady? Fido wants to know when your next run is, Broken Nose............ Right. Enough of this joshing, people. Dees and JD are back off hols and Chuff is keeping his training up on the beach (good man). The boss is still out of action and yours truly is still on the way back, but there will nevertheless be a training session of the Mighty EEFC organised shortly in anticipation of a few games. Watch this space.

I got used to sunshine and 28-30 degrees every day - we get back and it's seemed to do nothing but rain and be bluddy cold ! Looking forward to (hopefully) being picked if/when we do have a game so continuing with the training. In the meantime perhaps we should have a training camp on Chuffed's local beach ?

As things transpired it wasn't a Europe or bust affair going into the final fixture against ManU. We'd more or less secured 7th slot at Xmas, despite a couple of minor incursions from the Wolves. Seemingly from the turn of the year EEFC were destined for an assault on Europe. A late in the season filip with the loan spell of Mike B helped an ailing squad but at the end of the day was no more than a sideshow. It was the hard work and concentrated Om of the squad throughout the season that told. {A season synopsis in three parts to follow}. Firstly the stats and stuff from the final encounter at OT. ManU 2 v 4 EEFCA buzz surrounding the encounter with an unusual starting line-up/formation. A three for something with Bath as the attacking defender, Felonious, Dees and Pearo taking up the slack. Assassin, MSal, Murphs in attack, attack attack. Cheees in nets, the rest as is. Cheees {t/c} Northy HarryB Deeside Felonious Quietman Pearo Bath Assassin MSal Murphs F/h ManU 2 v 2 EEFCPassession 45/55% EEFC scorers: HarryB header off a Bathstokie corner Northy mazy individual worldy from right back. No bookings or Injury Bath back in nets, takes on temp captaincy, Cheees off Chuffed on in a more familiar 343. Hafe Time Tea & Oranges. +Majik Sponge. Reverting to a more conventional set up the chaos subsided and sparkling nogger won the day. EEFC pressed home the advantage, clear victors, took the spoils, which included 6th spot, 69 points. S/h EEFC scorers: Quietman from an indirect freekick taken by t/c Bath. Murphs tap in created by Deeside. Ratings: Cheees {f/h 5} Bath {t/c} 11* Northy 6 HarryB 9 Deeside 10 Felonious 7 Quietman 9 Pearo 5 Chuffed{s/h 6} Assassin 5 MSal 6 Murphs 9 Mom*: sponsored by Squid Inc. Seafood Sandwich Corp., ending the season on a high: Bath, two assists, second half clean sheet, rated 11. UIMS A fine end to the season. That sponge works wonders.
It was indeed and it does indeed, Chuff! (Told you the true story before that I actually had Len Graham, the trainer, attend to ME once at a match at the Vic, but no sponges were involved!) Right, team, this was us last time out, and perhaps you will all kindly note that I scored the last goal following a beautiful little move by Dees, and JD got the other in the second half courtesy of a Bathy indirect free kick. First half scorers 'Arry (Bathy again - from his corner this time) and Northy with a solo effort (applause, applause.) Be inspired, chaps. More news ASAP................

I'd like to report that it's long and flat (the beach that is) with a slight prevailing westerly wind. It's even better when the tide's out. Plenty of nearby options for some hill work as well. Stay fit everyone let's hit the ground running. ✌🏃♀️🏃♂️

My sole memory of a beach in Wales was a post-university jaunt. 4 of us travelling & sleeping in a landrover. The beach bit mainly consisted of falling in rock pools, building a fire, and getting drunk on out-of-date beer we'd bought from the local discount store. Pearo will be happy to know that hotdogs cooked on a beach fire taste bloody lovely. Oh, and we rounded the evening's entertainment by lighting our own postern blasts. Happy days.
I'm happy to attend the training camp to boost morale but don't be expecting me to do any fitness stuff.

Should bulk me up a bit for the holding midfielder role that the boss had me playing at the end of last season. No-one shall pass me (at least they won't without getting a hefty lump taken out of their shin, anyway).

I’ve been keeping myself fit and available for selection if required boss.
I can’t find my shorts and I have one boot and a carpet slipper but it was good enough for last season.
I’ve downloaded the latest Macaffee software so I should be virus free but I’d still advise you all to keep your distance until number 63 on the Cantonese menu has worked its way through.
