I can't begin to think how you've coped with it all. Make sure you're okay if they're throwing you out. Daft thing to say, I know, but you know what I mean. xxx

Great idea, Fel, and excellent clip. (Mainly because……. Steve McQueen……….PHWOARRRRRR! Anyway, I digress:) Cheesy, have you got a baseball to keep bouncing against the wall of the ward until you get out? If not, I can let you have a tennis ball. A hockey ball definitely wouldn't work. (Please note I can't be 'H' because I didn't spell that as 'definately'. Or then again it could be a double-bluff, fella… …)

Ta. Never seen it.  Highly recommended Murph. Fantastic study of institutionalisation and Nicholson's finest hour and a half for me. And interestingly in the film the Chief never speaks a word but in Ken Kesey's book the Chief is the narrator. Brilliant film.. Danny Devito is spectacular in it... and Nurse Ratchet I can certainly identify with..

"This hospital stands on the site of a medaeval hospital, little is known about this place but it is thought it was a leper hospital established by St. Loy (c588-660 ad). Known for his skill in working with metals he dedicated his time and great wealth to healing the sick and helping the needy. Originally from Chaptelat, Limoges, he later established hospitals and nunneries in Limoges and Paris often depicted shoeing a horse whereby he removed the legs of the animal, shoed them and sowed them back on... It later became a workhouse in 1832. Now most famous for it's medaeval treatment of the right honourable Cheeesfreeex of Cheees Hall."
Sunday's game vs The Shit is dedicated to the memory of St. Loy...
(I like to think that his christian name was Alan. Al Loy!)

I have a very very vague recollection of having heard sth like "that was where the workhouse used to be" yonks and yonks - and REALLY yonks - ago. You still incarcerated, sunbeam, or did the top-secret night-by-night construction of a glider on the canteen roof plan come to fruition?

Double Edit. Check out the tale of Cinderella's transport arrangements. ...And the Russian battleship.... Rancid meat... Oooooh wordplay. Oh yes! Russian battleship - Potemkin - - master stroke with that one..... clever shanks. No personal experience of it but I've strolled past the Aurora and was mightily impressed. You've got me again on the rancid meat.... For some reason I can only think of beef jerky and biltong, but they're preserved, not rancid. I give up!

Are you still on the honey treatment Cheees ? Yes mate. A change of honey every two days... it's not Minuka, it's called medihoney, comes in tubes.. wonder what the bees who produce it look like? I bet St. Loy of Limoges used similar treatments 1500 years ago. It's anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties and promotion of tissue growth and healing is phenomenal. Found out that the maggots come from Welsh Green Bottles.. Sister on this ward visited the lab where they're grown as part of her training. I dunno I might have to throw my Venus Flytraps away when I get wom. Lord of the Flies...
