Is that true BJ? I'd be really intersted to know the name of this french negotiator and when the armament deal was signed and which companies tendered for it. It all seems very strange This is a fair question - were any British companies actually in for it? If they were then there is some logic to it being bad for British business, although it does assume a British business would've won the contract if the EU had never existed. If there wasn't then it's a red herring. A big fat red moby dick more like.

C Not if the EU leaders formulate the industrial/ trade/ agricultural strategies across the EU countries on "behalf of members" and those members have to abide by their.polivies. it's obvious that Macron will be trying to get the best out of the EU for his own domestic Political reasons. ( As did Thatcher....the difference being that the EU has now evolved further into Political and Economic union and Germany and France pull the strings.

Where is your evidence for this statement. Most MPs but I doubt the population. And leavers whining about what..........the referendum clearly stated to leave. No mate it’s remainiacs who do most of the whinging and whining. Get over it, we’re leaving. GO BO! Whinger and moaner moans about whingers and moaners whinging and moaning. So you admit to whinging and moaning then we’ll done. In Devon that’s known as "Pot calling Kettle". No doubt there is a German/French/Spanish/Italian/Dutch* translation from your neck of the woods *delete as appropriate or move there as you love EU so much.

It would really interest me if what you are saying is true As I say it was a few weeks ago....any views on my question about the self interest of France and Germany within the EU. "On Monday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison was joined by French Defence Minister Florence Parly to sign a long awaited "strategic partnering agreement" to underpin the $50 billion Future Submarine project" www.abc.net.au/news/2019-02-12/barracuda-delay-and-impact-on-australian-program/10800794But BJ, all I can see is:
1) that the French had won that deal in 2016 !!! And that would have been after a few years of negotiation.
But the EU only gave the green light to start trade negotiations with Australia and New Zealand in May 2016 and are still ongoing and will carry on until at least December
Basically all was settled before the EU Trade deal talks really got underway, so to suggest that a french company got the deal because of the EU negotiations can't be true
2) The French company DCNS won the contract over Germany’s ThyssenKrupp AG and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Kawasaki Industries - there were no British industries bidding for the contract so to suggest that the UK lost out because the EU made sure Germany or France got the deal is also not true
3) The only EU negotiator that I can find involved in these negotiations is Helena König who is Swedish and the EUs chief negotiator.
I guess we can put all this in the fake news/factual mistakes bin

It all seems very strange Probably fake news like most of the shit leavers on here spout as gospel. Surveys of 20 people that represent overwhelming global support for Brexit. Tweets from random people containing made up statistics to suit their agenda. 800+ pages and still no proper reason for leaving the EU. Independence (already have it), sovereignty (and that too), Democracy (oh, what a surprise, also have this). But the EU wants 'ever closer union'. End of days. Here's the thing if ever closer union is such a good thing and so popular with the people why has there been minimal if any voting allowed on it. Labour lied about a referendum on the lisbon treaty said it was only an agreement and signed it. You ask pretty much any EU citizen they will take the trading arrangements but reject political union so they will never be allowed a vote on it.

No mate it’s remainiacs who do most of the whinging and whining. Get over it, we’re leaving. GO BO! Please show me the election where there was a majority for parties pushing for no-deal. Not even in the recent European Election did the public support no deal. The majority voted to remain or leave with a deal. Don’t recall seeing that option on the ballot paper The EU elections are irrelevant.....but then remainers are scraping the barrel for any excuse to stop Brexit.

Not at all. If you think that France and Germany in defining the Industrial, Trade, agricultural or fishing policies has the UK interest at heart and then doesn't go on to benefit from those policies that's up to you. At any meeting the EU is at the table supposedly representing us , we are not there. If you want to believe differently that's up to you. But I don't want to be part of an undemocratic Bureaucracy, particularly one that does not put UKs interests first. Its that simple.

At least we agree on each country acting in its own self interest.....the Eurogroup meetings are essential to the EU and as you know Merkel and Macron dominate the EU...I don't think even you could possibly argue that the UK is central player. I've now spent enough on this simple point do I will leave you in your own worlds.

A few weeks back the "EU" secured a deal with Australia worth 50b AUD over a period of time. The person at the negotiations on behalf of the EU was French. The French also got the contract to supply the 50b AUD worth of armaments. The " power" of the EU did favour the EU but not the UK
1) EU trade deal is not finished yet - Fake news 2) The main negotiator was Swedish 3) A french company got the deal before the EU Trade Deal 4) The power of the EU did not favour the EU because it was after the armament deal was done
Sorry BJ but all you wrote here was Fake news

Not fake at all. There clearly is an agreement between France and Australia as I've posted. As I say I'll leave yous in your own worlds now to believe that the EU acts in the interest of the UK.
