No one would prefer Reading to come up surely? Me mate,as my son lives there and it would give me an excuse to go and spend some quality Lash and Footie time with him. You should be more concerned that you've failed in your parental duties by allowing your son to live in somewhere so boring as Reading in the first place.

Whenever I think of Reading I think of June Whitfield. Good Lady. Not been Huddersfield for years so hopefully it'll be them. But Reading is just down the road. Can't lose really. Yes I remember the horror of reading' plastic fans as the stoke fans sang 'get your tits out' to june whitfield, who for some reason was on the pitch at half time. Reading, like brighton, just not a proper club. Huddersfield are and their fans are far more deserving Why are Brighton not a proper club?

Huddersfield. Northern and the Real Ale trail for afters. The pub on Huddersfield station forms part of the real ale trail , it has about 10 real ales, great drinking town.

Although Stoke, Brighton and Palace in 79' all wore stripes I think. Not sure of Palace strip that year Didn't Palace use the all white strip with the red & blue diagonal stripes that year as their home kit???

Huddersfield for me too..... Simply because Reading have had a few cracks at the Prem in recent years, so it'd just be nice to see someone else have a go!!!

Huddersfield for me. Haven't been there since that open terrace at leeds road. Reading holds some special memories for me though. Especially this.

Huddersfield personally for me,loved my trips to Leeds Road.Proper football ground.Remember in the mid 80's going on a Friday night stag do with some mates around Leek(before the days of Prague stag nights) and the groom to be was a Vale fan.We got him so drunk that we threw him on our hired mini bus the next day for our away game at Huddersfield. We kept him drinking and thinking it was a extended stag do,then he realized we had taken him to a Stoke away game.He came in with us and enjoyed taking the piss out of us until Keith Bertschin scored a late equaliser for us in a 2-2 draw.Needless to say we stopped of at a load of boozers on the way home.Great days following Stoke in that era in a mini bus full of mates and beer cans.

Swings and roundabouts.
Keep the terriers down so we can pick at Billing and that.
Balanced against me bias towards the moors and seeing Wagner having a tilt in the Prem etc.
Not arsed about seeing the Royals back up.
Judge it on the footbo on the day.

Stripes over hoops anytime. 3 x striped teams promoted in one year has probably never happened before Stoke, West Brom, Hull Edit- I see I'm rather late to the party with that one!

There are a few reasons to go Reading over Huddersfield. -The Wagner and Klopp love story is bad enough with only one of them in the Prem. I can already see next season's narrative and it turns Huddersfield into a little Liverpool lite. Imagine if they get a few scalps and do alright, we'll never hear the end of it. -Huddersfield played their reserves against Birmingham, gifting them the 3 points in a relegation battle (that ended up keeping them up) and fucked over everybody around them. They should have been docked 10 points themselves for ruining the integrity of the league considering all of the other relegation candidates played Huddersfield and not Huddersfield II. There'd be a slight bit of justice in them not coming up anyway. -Every club that comes up to the Premier League that hasn't been there before (since it's been the Prem) makes Stoke being here that little bit less special. With every Burnley, Bournemouth and Huddersfield that come up and do alright our claim to be more of a Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea rival looks a little bit more ridiculous. Reading have been up before so there's less of that.

Purely for selfish reasons I'll go with Reading as it means I can go to the game with my old uni friend who lives that way and stop over. It also means that my brother can grab the train from London very easily!
But then again I wouldn't mind the option of adding Huddersfield to my away day experiences...

Got to be Huddersfield, although Reading would be closer, last year Huddersfield were in the top flight, they finished bottom and the mighty potters won a cup, that will do for me.

Remember watching Brighton play Coventry in a first Division game at the old Goldstone ground, when Coventry were using that horrible brown, yes brown away kit.Horrible night pissed down with rain but plenty attended and didn't get the impression it wasn't a proper club.Baffling to be honest.

You can't really define it, you can't set rules on it, it's just a mystical vibe. And Brighton don't have it.
