Would you take him here if Hughes was let go mate? I'd sooner not mate I got the impression you wanted/liked him as England manager?

Miles better manager than Pulis will ever be.
I'd swap him for Hughes right now if possible. That's not to say that he'd be my first choice but I'd rather be starting next season with him in charge than Hughes.

I think Allardyce is a superb manager who would have done brilliantly for england if he had not been entrapped.
If he was the italian manager he wouldn't hav e been sacked over that.
I'd take him here in a flash and sparky can take over at palace. Best for all parties in my view

He's not my ideal choice but he ticks all the boxes and in my opinion would sort the unbalanced squad out better than Hughes will.

I don't think it would be wise for Stoke to go after him because you never want to hire someone who isn't hungry to manage. Allardyce it seems wants to take a break from management indefinitely. Why would you want someone who'd prefer to be relaxing on a cruise ship?

Not in a million years. Even before the England debacle, I would have felt the same. He's yesterday's man and needs to retire. All about opinions mate It is opinions Crouch but I can't believe that fans who have spent all season moaning their bag off about BORING football would welcome Allardyce's hoofball? There again we Stoke fans are not the most mentally acute .

Sam knows he can't quite cut it at the highest level of the Premier League. However, he and a few others I won't mention are very good at what they does: keeping smaller teams from avoiding the big drop. I look to see him spending the next 4-5 months peddling his inside knowledge to the highest bidder as a consultant and then picking up a team in relegation trouble around the end of November. "Sam's Cycle".

And I can't believe that fans who have spent all season seeing and hearing why people have been moaning their bags off, actually think that some fans want Hughes out just because the football on show was boring. Then again I think you already know this not to be true, and just wanted to take a cheap shot against your fellow Stoke fans for some reason. Like you say not the most mentally acute.

Allardyce would be a return +1 to the days of TP. No thanks. I still stand by the comment that some of our fans are not the brightest.Witness the hounding of one of our most consistent players (Shawcross) on this message board and the fact that some people think the return of Pulis would improve the situation.

It's a tough call for me, whilst I don't think Big Sams football is as bad as pulis' he won't have the same draw to players that Hughes has.
He would get our current team of very talented individuals playing as a team with intensity, desire, fight and passion. Which would be a huge improvement on what's currently being served up.
But then his football wouldn't be as good as what I call 'the odemwinge season' between when he signed and when he got injured, some of the stuff we played was very good, plus notable nods to the victories over Tottenham and the 6-1 against Liverpool.
I don't get all the dinosaurs comments, wasn't he one of the first managers in the Premier League to use pro zone & sport science? Which at the time was very forward thinking.

Its just another one of those bullshit myths the masses on here come up with, like the "big sam hoofball" brigade as well, his west ham side didn't play anything like a pulis side, neither did palace. People just love jumping to conclusions on here and never do the homework to back up the shit they dish out.

There again we Stoke fans are not the most mentally acute . Speak for yourself about being mentally acute mate.As for the football we watched last season imo it was awful and just as bad as we saw in the last Pulis season but that's open to opinion.Allardyce for me would be the ideal person to come in and sort out what is needed in our team but it's not going to happen now so it's irrelevant.

I think he's had enough of firefighting. If he could get a club where he was able to work with a big budget and have a real chance of trophies he'd do it. But it's highly unlikely. He got the one job he'd always yearned for. He craved it publicly. And he never even got the moment where you lead them out at Wembo. And the anti climactic nature of it all, then going right back into the whirlwind at Crystal might well have knocked him senseless.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Good to see you've still got a sense of humour mate. Always good to see you post on this board...please come back next season. Who's favourite for the Roker job? Will Short spend? Other than everywhere, where do you think you need to improve? Appreciate that.
The favourite is currently Nigel Pearson, not sure I want him to be honest. Fell out with the Derby squad pretty quick but does have a 'no nonsense' attitude. Other main competitors seem to be Derek McInnes (Aberdeen manager) and Kevin Phillips (never managed a game...), it is pretty grim reading really!
Ellis will not spend, not a huge amount of starting budget anyway but whether we'd reinvest some money of the players who will likely leave (Pickford or Kone etc) remains to be seen. Club has reportedly been up for sale for quite a while.
Sadly, that's the real answer; we need to strengthen everywhere. Need numbers up front and improvement in defence. I'd say we're okay in CM for that level but that's about it

Allardyce took over a very expensively assembled Palace squad including a £30million centre forward, spent even more money in January and got Palace to errrr 41 points...
The man is a genius.
