Never been a fan of women’s boxing but did anyone see Katie Taylor last night. To be fair to her opponent she took an absolute pummelling for ten rounds and managed to go the distance but I’ve never seen a female boxer perform with such skill and hand speed

Totally outclassed her opponent. Won every round. Had to laugh at some of the sky sports (aka Eddie Hearn hype machine) commentary of her though. Only a couple of months ago she got benefit of very dubious decision in her rematch with Delfine.

Is it just me who’s not much for Haney?
Not one for his style and seems rather stiff to me. Although at 21, lots of room for development, seems to fight a lot of ‘bums’ though.
Would love to see him v Ryan García, who I think is incredible. However again fights ‘bums’!

I had Dubois before the fight! Big result for Joyce! Can Dubois bounce back?

Joyce literally jabbed his eye shut, can't remember him landing with any big shots. Tbf to Dubois, by the end he couldn't see any right from Joyce coming so he did the right thing in stopping imo.

I had Dubois before the fight! Big result for Joyce! Can Dubois bounce back? The loss on his record shouldn’t be an issue. If I was in his camp I’d be more concerned that he was constantly getting tagged by a jab. If he seriously wants to be classed as a serious contender he’ll need to sort that out. Fury, Joshua and Usyk could tag him all night unless he improves his slipping and head movement.

Anyone watch the Tyson v Jones Jnr fight? I wasn't stupid enough to pay for it but caught the whole thing on YouTube when I woke up and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it was because my expectations were so low but it was a decent exhibition. Snoop Dogg on coms was an added bonus He might be 54 but I wouldn't wanna be on the end of one of Iron Mike's body shots, still plenty of venom left in the old dog.

Watched Dubois/Joyce then Tyson/Jones (just for a bit of a laugh). It was far better than I thought it would be. The 2 minute rounds and cushions for gloves undoubtedly helped things along, but in short bursts Tyson looked genuinely destructive even at 54. Just hope he doesn't start thinking he can make some sort of proper comeback, because it's one thing looking good in an exhibition against another old man, but an entirely different thing going into a proper fight against someone 20 or even 30 years younger than him. If he's got any sense (and if he needs the money) then doing something similar against Holyfield would be fine. I wouldn't pay to watch it, but fair play, this 'fight' was miles better than I thought it would be.

Not surprised that Joyce won: he's been in with much better opponents than Dubois has. He wants Usyk next. That's a whole new level altogether. Can't say I'd fancy his chances.

That's a whole new level altogether. Can't say I'd fancy his chances. I think so. He reminds me of AJ when AJ has been too heavy. Just lumbering forward without much variety hoping to do some damage with a few heavy hits. In my opinion AJ looked much better when he came in lighter against Ruiz as he could get in and out of range much quicker. I think Joyce will struggle with Usyk. To stand a chance he will need to out jab him plus keep covered up when Usyk moves around for his left hook after the jab. I think Usyk picks him apart and wins on points. I’m really intrigued to see how Usyk holds up to a heavyweight with genuinely fast hands AND power like AJ or Fury. So far his fights at heavyweight have been comfortable for him but there have been the odd indication when he’s been clipped that he doesn’t like it much at the higher weight.

Warrington had not fought since June 2019, and was concerning himself with future world title clashes after vacating his IBF belt. A case of not keeping your eye on the ball? Lara had never fought anywhere near world class before this so maybe this was Warrington’s ‘Andy Ruiz’ moment? He was uncertain in his last fight against dour switch hitter Kid Galahad, and as Warrington believed he’s at his peak he got to start showing it. Surely a convincing come back victory in the re-match?

Surely a convincing come back victory in the re-match? Inactivity definitely not helped him mate. As I watched it I kept thinking of Prescott v Khan. Prescott not brilliant but had power that shook him to his boots. I think a rematch could end very similar to last night. Warrington would be petrified if that power and get beat again

One lad I like watching at present is Nikita Ababiy, shite technical skill, but throws every shot with venom. Won’t be long until he gets tagged by a person with superior skill.
With the right coaching he could be a talent, especially if he drops a weight class like planned. Just reminds me of a video game fighter with his style.
His last fight went the last 6, and he was still throwing with full force, just a lot less powerful and visibly knackered.

Its an alarm setter for sure. I think a lot of people underestimate bjs ring craft. I'm Not going attempt to call it though.

Povetkin carries power still but he’s done now. Whyte is in a difficult position again now of being next in line but having no title shot. His career will effectively be on hold for another 12/18 months whilst Fury and AJ battle it out unless a belt is stripped.
