I think Erik is used as a scapegoat by some on here, yes, he's been poor recently and his end product coming forward has been woeful, but prior to that, he has arguably been our most consistent defender, particularly over the last 2 seasons. On top of that, you could argue Johnson has been generally poor since he came back from the injury, but he doesn't seem to get half the flak from some that Erik does.

If people don't want other people's opinions then why come on here and read them on Twitter?
Also...I'm a fan of Pieters. Got some mistakes in him but who hasn't (Arnie, Ramadan, Shaq,Berahino, Grant, Shawcross, Frank Bruno Martins Indi have all made mistakes this year!) but I stand by it he's a good player for us and we'd struggle to find better.
And that's my opinion. I await the onslaught.

Whilst Erik has been a shadow of his former self since signing the new contract it was probably wrong to play Muni there and makes Hughes' no LB needed comment sound even more rediculous after dropping his main LB and plsying a non regular LB ( even team regular) How Johnson is in ahead of Bardsley is yet another unfathomable Hughes policy that are beginning to stack up into a probable season of struggle next year if he is allowed to continue

Bardsley should be first choice though. Pieters has faded but he knows what he has to do and will put his hands up when he fucks up which most players wouldn't do!

I hope Erik is back soon, he is a much better full back than Muniesa.

Every single part of that post is wrong.
