Actually, this article smacks of a desperate government trying to provoke a consumer spending splurge through raising public sector pay to rescue a stalling economy. I mean, it's obviously nothing to do with compassion or thinking people have had enough of earning less than the cost of living rise for ten years. Why would a Tory give a shit about that? They should simply work harder and stop being poor. Have they seen the next set of economic figures I wonder? Q2 must be due out soon. Negative growth? current growth rate 0.2% lowest in any developed economy with inflation at 2.9%

Just a quiet word in your ear........most Brexit supporters have stopped debating on here because of the insults and abuse they get from you and your lefty corbynistas. There was once a time when we could have decent debates with labour supporters such as huddy and mumf but, like the rest of the Labour Party this mb has been infiltrated by people like you who can only argue by offensive abuse and insults. You and your like are an unwelcome addition to message board members. As I said banter, reasoned argument and heated debate are all part and parcel of message boards but nasty abuse, insults and offensive repertoire are not. Excuse me , but have you totally missed something here ? I am of course referring to the disgraceful way that Huddy has been treated on this board over the past few years at the hands of the regular Tory boot boys such as yourself Sloppy , Mumf , Crappy etc . It has been nothing short of disgraceful . I'm sorry LL , but I can't take you at all seriously if that's the asinine viewpoint that you subscribe to . And furthermore , if you would like a word in my ear then please PM me instead of being condescending , indiscreet and patronising on the main board . Thanks R This is textbook knitting club I'm afraid, mate. All posters are equal, but some are more equal than others You only need to look at the way mumf has always been abusive on here. Since the year dot. He's racist and he's homophobic, and has even been banned for the latter. Yet, at the first sign of pisstake in return, he goes off on one, culminating in two ragequits in the past 2 years. And here he is being repainted as some sort of Oxford debating champion Then you have posters like todgerjones, fyd and thevoid - all of whom are no strangers to a bit of rough and tumble. No problem there. But LL mysteriously omits mention of them in order to make out that it's only left-wing types that ever dish it out. He's free to comfort himself with that thought of course. But like religion, it's a terrible load of owd arse

Another damning critique of a London Council. This time, Islington.
23 Council workers earning more than 80,000 a year. So much for Tory cuts.
I think the local MP needs to get a grip.

Another damning critique of a London Council. This time, Islington. 23 Council workers earning more than 80,000 a year. So much for Tory cuts. I think the local MP needs to get a grip. The biggest earner was Derek Myers, who runs Hammersmith and Fulham as well as Kensington and Chelsea council, on £266,991. His take-home package included £209,800 salary, £10,500 bonus and £46,700 towards his pension pot. Other chiefs — all in Tory-run boroughs — were close behind with Paul Martin at Wandsworth picking up £254,880, Nick Walkley at Barnet collecting £250,818 and Will Tuckley at Bexley receiving £244,897. According to council accounts, there were 608 officials paid more than £100,000 in 2011/12. This compares with 701 officials the year before. Wandsworth paid 44 staff more than £100,000 — the highest number of six-figure salaries in London — with five officials collecting more than £200,000 each. You see roger you quote 1 figure and we then find out that the Tories are far worse with the payments !!

Theresa May 'in desperate approach to Lib Dems for support' linkAnd the walls came tumbling down! Doesn't seem desperate to me Seems to me to be common sense to help secure urgent reform to important things such as mental health reform Unless of course your in favour of opposition for opposition sake

The teaching profession has seen average pay fall by £3 an hour in real terms and police officers by £2 an hour, while the wages of nurses have stagnated during a decade of public sector salary freezes, a new report for the government’s pay advisers has found. link

Theresa May has been accused of burying a report into the funding of Islamist extremism in the UK for fear it will embarrass Saudi Arabia.

Jezza blatantly lying.... again... and 100,000 idiots cheer. Roger its you that is lying (yet again) the figures are that there has been a decline in working class youngers going to uni is that because the working class are now middle class as the tax threshold is now over £10k, interest rates are still ridiculously liw and they have more disposable income?
