Should be that if you get caught dropping litter, the council dump a street's worth of bins in your house. I think we should all be responsible for keeping the area outside our property litter free as well, not only residents but businesses.

I was in Kidsgrove a few weeks back walking downhill towards a parked car when fat arm protrudes from the window and drops a half empty plastic coke bottle which then proceeds to roll down the street in front of me.

I saw 3 young girls parked in mini across from my home enjoying a take away, i was just leaving the house when they threw the remains through a open window so i strolled over picked it up and threw it in their car got phone from my pocket and started filming their response ,got some abuse but a lot of satisfaction

Dog shit is not a problem around here main problem is Mc-Donalds packaging (does MC-D`s count as dog shit? as a foodie i think so )it is by far away the biggest problem, i suppose if you are too idle to cook chances are you are too idle to take your litter home.

good, fine them £1000, wankers, and raise the fine for the dog shit wankers to £10,000 And people who throw rubbish out of cars should face execution. Selfish Bastards This - particularly obnoxious when following on a motor cycle - still lit dog ends that become incendiary in the wind can burn straight through leathers - that and gobbing out the window.....5 years hard labour....

I think fast food drive-through outlets should be made to print (small self adhesive labels)on all packaging the reg.plate of vehicles picking up orders and notices stating the driver is responsible for the disposal of all packaging with fines and points on licence being available for courts to use.

I was walking back from the barbers the other week when I could hear a car horn blaring in the distance. Turns out it was a bloke in a delivery van telling a school kid to pick his rubbish up that he'd just dropped. The kid called the bloke in the delivery van "scum".
I acknowledged the delivery driver by giving him a thumbs up and saying, "well said".
In this day & age it takes courage to stand up for what's right for fear of the PC brigade hounding you.

Does anyone know how much you can get for 100s of empty drinks can if you took em to a scrappy dealer? There's loads of 'em between Stoke Boothen Road - along the River Trent - and the incinerator. Who chucks these?
Football supporters? Dog Walkers, Kids? All the above?
One way of clearing up discarded plastic bottles would be to give a few pence for every one collected and deposited at an appropriate recycling centre. Kids would be up and down tidying the place up in no time. Similar with metal cans.

They do it that way in California, 5 cents on a typical beer or Coke bottle and you see queues of homeless people dragging trolleys full of 'em to the dropoff points.

That's actually a good idea and names of those who order on the screen things by card

Easily pick up a couple of bin bags full in half an hour or so. I have found over times certain people ( a small minority ) are responsible for most of the general rubbish one car in particular seemed to have a knack of parking by discarded NAPPIES and Mc Donalds kiddies meal packaging the vehicle had a child seat fitted so after a a few weeks i phoned the council for advice and they asked for the reg. number and implied they would have a word the the owner and to date they seem to park in a bay with no litter so i think that worked well.

My Mrs has set up a village litter picking team, and pick once a month, the council loan out a load of picking equipment and give out the bags, and arrange pick up of the full bags from a certain spot, the village co op now donates tea and biscuits to have after in the scout hall where people meet.
the litter just seems to be getting worse, costas, KFc, Mcdonalds, subway, red bull cans, Lucozade bottles, take aay sandwich acks etc. all seems to be the teenage to early 20 range and the uneducated grab and go brigade tossing it out of their car windows. Wankers the lot of them..

Well I only drank in pubs there so I had no clue. The Germans I've met all seemed to take the recycling bug with them too.

Some places have even designed new bins to prevent people from having to rummage to the bottom to find them

If someone’s dog keeps shitting in the street outside your house, what is the correct form of revenge action? through his letterbox or on the front step One bloke in our village was letting his dog do it, caught a few times on camera, turns out he's a postie, quite a few knew him, then dog shit and dog pooh bags were dumped on his step and his Mrs informed about him doing it.

Back to litter & dog shite. The careless disposal of it can be summed up by a lack of respect for the community, the environment and even lack of self respect. There seems to be more moronic brainless idiots around now than ever. The pence/bottle or can idea seems to gaining legs and apparently is done in some countries - much to the benefit of the community. How about shutting down drive-through outlets like McDonalds, Starbucks etc ? I can't understand the mentality of using a drive-through anyway - everyone moans about getting stuck in traffic jams then some purposely go and join one to wait for an overpriced crappy coffee. Some have no time to take the empty to a bin so chuck it out of the car window. Go figure that logic?!
