As long as Coates is putting the money in, who gives a shit?! True I suppose but, I won't go into my sarcastic views of a millionaire business putting money into a football club for the love of it ... like I say ..."It may sound silly" but, that's the way I feel about the guy. I just find him pretty arrogant. Not saying I'm right. Just my opinion and I'm sure far more think the world of him. Altho the other points I made in the first post are far more important to my loss of interest in renewal If the arrogance of club owners put off football supporters, home attendances the world over would be akin to a Vale following at Southend!

If I based my decision to buy a season ticket on the quality of entertainment in the previous season, I would probably have missed 40 or so of the seasons since I first went in 1961.
It has not been a particularly entertaining season, but, then I don't find modern football to be particularly entertaining. I can't even remember the season when I last watched a televised match for the full 90 minutes without channel hoping to find something better. (Last night I watched some of Leicester v Liverpool but only between University Challenge and a BBC4 documentary on a British Bronze Age village).
If football is going through (what to me appears to be) a dull uninspiring style period, why should Stoke be any different?
In years to come I expect that this season will have been filed away in the dark, dusty recess of my brain where all the other non-memorable seasons are filed.
However, I still enjoy the matchday experience (the journey to the ground with old friends, the people I have sat amongst for the last 20 years, a chance to let off steam during the game, the odd bit of quality, winning and even sitting on the South Car Park for an hour drinking tea, chatting about the match and abusing the idiots on Praise and Grumble) and therefore I am looking forward to the match on Saturday.
On that basis, I still expect to renew until they carry me out in a wooden box.
There has always been a percentage of people that don't renew every season (and it is probably a lot higher than some on here seem to think), so I don't expect this summer to be any different. (I know a couple of fans who did not renew for the season after we were promoted to the Premier League).

I'd re-new mine if we were in the fucking Vanarama league. It's because Stoke are in my blood and i'll support them thru thick and thin!

These days it seems that more and more people have a "customers" attitude or way of thinking, than a supporters

It's taken me 66 years (since I was a nipper first reaching double digits) to become immune to the ups and downs of being a Stokie. Vis Unita Fortior! OS. Ps. I will be renewing our six ST's during the early bird period. Value for money! Heh heh.

Unless folk can't afford to do so(or personal circumstances dictate otherwise)I really can't see how anyone wouldn't renew. We've all wanted the promised land for years and yes the football hasn't been very good at times but Saturday without going to the match is just unthinkable for me and I would assume many others.

There isn't any choice over the matter.
Watching Stoke City is an obligation.
Once it's in your blood it never goes.
Win. Lose or Draw. Keep The Faith.

There will be supporters thinking twice before renewing. With the extra capacity, people may well wait and see how we start next season and buy a ticket game by game. If we do start as badly again then supporters will stay away. The rest of this season and then the summer transfer market is massive for our club, our squad needs a big overhaul or we'll be in amongst the strugglers next season.I'll be renewing of course as I've supported them through thick and thin which has mainly been thin!!

Renewing is a no brainier even if you miss 30% of the games it still works out cheaper than matchday prices.

If you are a supporter, you don't think twice about attending unless the financial existence of your family is threatened by doing so. I'd sacrifice almost anything, apart from watching my eldest boy play football himself, to watch Stoke City. So long as we are not the early Sunday kick off or Monday night fixture, I'll be there come rain or shine, good or bad.

I'm pissed off more than anyone but I had a season ticket when we had Ben petty, kofi nyamah, Bryan small, etc etc etc... losing at home to Birmingham 7 and watching shit games v Plymouth, Vale, Scunthorpe etc etc. I used to dream I'd see my team in the prem so I won't be giving it up anytime soon I'm with Clyde I got my first season ticket in the holocaust season. That was 3 wins out of 42 matches. I've had one ever since. If you don't like being in the top flight of what most people say is the best league in the world, put your name down for an allotment.
