If he are after him and he passes a medical, why are people wetting their pants? In case he spends a lot of time out with injury. Darren Anderton passed medicals.

But does the medical reveal a heightened risk of future injury when the player is completely healthy at the time of the medical? For example, Michael Owen had hamstring trouble for years, would that show up in a medical if he was ok that week? If not then medicals don't tell the club everything they need to know.

Part of our injury problem in these last 2 years is we have bought players who have bad history with injuries.

Part of our injury problem in these last 2 years is we have bought players who have bad history with injuries. Who are players who we perhaps couldnt have afforded if they were always injury free. Again its relative by all accounts in this day and age we wouldnt have denis smith anywhere near a pitch for at least 30 games a season because players are treated more like thoroughbred race horses than the shire horses the players were many years ago

Check the injury list for all the teams in the prem though the majority of all the squads are made of glass the better the medical care the more the players are injured that the way it works. As more injuries which perhaps they could have played though are discoved and they decided not to run the risk with a multi million pound investment, which was a waste if the investments never on the pitch which they arent because they are always injured or being protected from being injured which is paradoxical.

I've seen a couple of posters mention that Denis Smith was injury prone, presumably to justify signing another injury-prone player. But didn't one of Denis' injuries (along with other player injuries that season) put paid to our chances of winning the league?
Having injury-prone players can come at a cost.

Somehow I don't think everyone saying steer clear due to injures problems will bother the management team one bit. Have faith in the management team and wait for the medical before declaring he's fucked.

Exactly but you cant account for a broken leg or fully determine if an injury will flare up again i have sciatica but in the past 8 years only had one flare does that make me injury prone but when these medicals are performed its all catalogued like ooh a calf strain 12 months ago right so in training if he gets a tight calf keep him out for a fortnight as a precautionary measure, in fact a bet half the injuries for the majority of team are just precautionary.

This is one of the few pictures where Papa looks like he isn't trying to eat or injure someone. So may be an idea to get Afellay to have a word with him.

In a video titled "exceptional skills" I saw one or two things I didn't like tbh. He seems quite prone to play acting for one.

For me a centre half might be the most important position for not having someone who is injury prone as it demands consistency, solidity and is the foundation of the team.

He´s what we need.

Not true. For two seasons now we've had a record up there with the worst.

Mattador - wouldn't hurt to look him up on Wikipedia. We're not just talking a calf problem here.

I'm not against getting him in if he's as good as folk are saying. I'd want another centre half as well though.

Heard that there's mileage in this one. We've made inquiries for sure. I think he'd be excellent in the Premier League, injury record aside obviously!

Im in no way justifying signing him im saying we can look but we dont have to touch its our management and physios who jave to make an educated descision not us from wiki or some other website and then its redundant as he might trip over his dog and break an ankle

We simply can't afford to have another injury prone defender. We need a settled back four. There are question marks over Ryan and Johnson has always missed games. IMO the Berahino money should be used for Trippier and Keane. That's if we could get them of course.
A settled team needs a strong base not one that's constantly being changed.

I don't know why people are worrying themselves to death about injury prone centre halves when we have this fine specimen in the building. Here he is doing the "Papadopoulos".
