If he goes can we have will grigg to come on and make a nuisance of himself in the box. He would be good wildcard for those games where the opposition sit deep and refuse to come out and play. Happy for him to stay. In the that sort of situation he's a decent option himself

Peter Crouch has always appeared to me to be a decent bloke, no airs & graces, and a model professional. I was hoping that he would end his career with Stoke City and evolve into a coaching role. He couldn't be other than a tremendous influence on younger players and a great ambassador for our club.

Ek This with fucking knobs on.........he's still easily worth his place in the squad and still has goals in him given the opportunity (although he'd be the first to accept that this will be limited) and IMHO worth more to us by association beyond the end of his playing career in coaching, commercial and ambassadorial roles than any poxy transfer fee. He is a decent and intelligent bloke, everybody likes him and everyone knows who Crouchy is. We'd be stupid to let him just drift off to some no mark club for a paltry fee. If his family are happily settled in the north as they seem to be, why the hell would he go on a 3 to 4 hours jaunt to Swansea.........makes no sense to me unless he is wanting guaranteed starts, but can't see it and would he get that anywhere in the Prem anyhow?

I know many people on here won't think about it but one thing Hughes will consider about the possibility of Crouchy leaving is the harm it might do to the dressing room. It's bleeding obvious that he's an excellent person to have around the club and maybe Sparky values that as much as his footballing ability. Obviously, if Crouch wants to leave then that's a different matter and we shouldn't stop him but for the sake of £3m, is it worth it? tough decision, along with Charlie I must add.

If we sign a new striker there is zero need for him.

That number seems about as realistic as the 5m for trippier.

If we sign a new striker there is zero need for him. Possibly but if we get a couple of injuries say, or find ourselves still in two cup competitions, need a plan B / impact sub option occasionally.....? that said I personally think he stands to be as valuable an asset off the pitch and could play a key part in the future of the club and maintaining its profile as a top, established Prem outfit......

We go to the youth team. Berahino Diouf Joselu Walters For one position is more than enough.

Unless we have another poor injury run on forwards he will not start a game but be an option from the bench.
I would allow our ex Real Madrid man to go first but Crouch deserves game time even if it's away from Stoke.

A very wealthy man who acts like one of the lads and who has done it. Great signing for us. Typical as well most appearances for us at the back end of his career. Tone wanted to sign him years ago

Not a very attractive move - would require a fair commute or a relocation maybe
Swansea seem to be going a little stagnant and its definitely sideways and slightly down
I would have thought he'd be looking at either Midlands, North West or London

Isnt this usually when QPR's name comes up??
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Crouchie as leverage in a Berahinho deal; regular football, still in the prem, play to his strengths, a reunion with an old friend in TP, for them a marquee signing and a fresh bout of adulation for him, no need to move or travel much further afield either

Crouch has been excellent for us and still gives us a perfectly viable alternative
at the very top level
He literally put us on the map in the premier league and changed our dynamic in terms of others perception of our football club
not only nationally - but worldwide
AND, some of the spite, vitriol and knuckle dragging uninformed criticsm of him on here quite frankly, makes me openly laugh out loud
born of being unable to handle his wages and, a simple failure to grasp his true worth, on and off the field of play
and so then I think :-
what an increasing number of bitter, narrow minded, unknowing and ungrateful bastards support Stoke City these-days !
Im hoping I get to see him score his 100th premier league goal for us shortly
and I for one, will give a standing ovation to this top pro -when he does this - he only needs the chance

Crouch is a true professional and a great character to have around. That goal against Man City was just wonderful.
When he was asked once what he would be if he hadn't of become a footballer he replied "Single"

I suggest you look up the term narrow minded Tony ....and do one yerself

I was on a Greek island recently walking past a taverna and wearing my SCFC baseball cap.
The Greek owner looked at it and said "Peter Crouch"
I would like him to stay until retirement and then stay involved with the club.

The location isn't a problem good commute from London. GOOD commute ??? You've obviously never done it ! Even with pretty well all Motorway ( and I don't know exactly where in London he lives but I keep reading here that he does, even though I thought he was in Alderley) you are looking at a minimum of 3 1/2 to 4 hours (each way) My mate lives in Swansea and drives to London on business regularly and says it's a nightmare And when I go from Nottingham to Swansea to visit it's a minimum 5 hours

He's been with us longer than he has with any other club,so i'd say he's pretty settled up t'north.would a loan move be a better idea?surely he'd be guaranteed a game or three then?
