You do get the impression that some of the Swansea fans' heads are about to implode. Apparently the transfer to Stoke is all in the fantasyland of the nation's media. If/When he signs, it will be almost as funny as watching the Everton fans' reaction to the Shaq signing last summer. To be fair at least the Swansea fans are at least using an imagined desire to go home (ignoring the fact he probably won't even have to move to house to come to us and might actually prefer his current living arrangements to south wales) rather than an imagined 'Big club' lure because either a) they won the league 30 years ago or b) they had a reasonably good UEFA cup / Europe League qualifying record under their previous manager. Everton fans are actually in shock they aren't competing for signings made by the Manchester clubs after this new takeover. More deluded than Theresa May expecting Boris Johnson to charm the world in giving us a half OK trade deal post Brexit.

Wish he'd hurry up and sign so we can start slagging him off for being shit. Really frustrating.

But... Stoke City FC was founded 49 years before them... I brought this up yesterday cant talk sense with people who when speaking in their native tongue are constantly gobbing in each others face and their best teams dont play in their own countries league, its like Madrid playing in France just wrong.

some info and posts off the swans forum, looks like we made a tentative move in Jan for Allen. seems swans fans a re a bit pissed off with jenkins in general regarding tranfers Good Morning Swans fans, my name is Su from TIA who work close with Liverpool FC and was interested to read this re Joe Allen. Seems fairly nailed on that Joe will join Stoke, Swans were interested in Jan but it was Stoke who were closer to landing him then. A few of the comments above are a bit mis-informed, Hughes and Joe Allen discussed his move during the Euros with the blessing of Liverpool, personally wish we kept him at Anfield and the feedback we got is that Stoke was his preferred destination. No doubt the player loves Swansea but as of today, a move back home was never on the cards.Allen was very keen to work with Mark Hughes who is building a very good side and with Afellay out injured they stepped up their interest. News this morning is that he will joing Stoke in the USA after a medical. Good luck next season, be interesting to see how your new manager does in his first full season. If that ain't a kick in the teeth for our DOF Jenkins what is.If he can't bring one of our own home what chance have we got? No problems, mystified why we are selling him as been excellent of late. Clubs like Stoke and Swansea seem to be closing the gap on Liverpool and Allen will not help by joining them. Sometimes going back to your former club doesn't appeal after such a short time away, Mark Hughes seems to be a pivotal figure and Joe was very keen to make the move. The person above who said that he would have no interest in joining the Potters couldn't have been further off the mark. Had Garry Monk still been there then perhaps things may have been different but I think it's a great move for him as can see them pushing top 6 if they avoid the injuries they suffered last season. Confused with this one. If he goes to Stoke you would presume it's because we're not actually that intersted, but if we ain't interested why do we say we are, unless Joe's just after the cash. Viewed objectively the club is undergoing revolutionary change and although there are grounds for some optimism it is far from clear the extent to which the new owners will invest significantly into the club, This at a time when at least a new CB, RB, and frotline striker are IMO needed to compete next season. Now they may very well be recruited, but pre-season has already started and I can easily understand why Joey Allen wouldn't want to take a punt on what is at present a speculative proposition. After all his career is at stake, and especially with the alternative option of joining Stoke who are clearly a side going places playing some really attractive stuff these days. As much as I hate to admit it; Stoke and Sparky look like a team that would be fun to play for. They are spending money on big names, playing a good brand of football now rather than the garbage we're used to seeing from them and they have owners (Bet365) who know that spending money can bring you success. Such is life and I think it's a good thing we aren't spending 13M on a player who has less than 1 year left on their contract. Fair points above, very little between Stoke and Liverpool these days. Swansea were getting there but had a blip but belong in that group of teams like Stoke and Southampton who are seriously pushing the top teams. Oddly I would put both of them as above Leicester on a whole as think they will continue to progress next couple of seasons whilst Leicester may be a flash in the pan. Big season for Swans next year and perhaps the transition may be the reason the odd player may think twice but you did look the part end of last season. Was hoping we would move for Arnautovic in exchange...Williams would have been nice either I just have to hope this is a kick in the ass for the new owners and DOF Jenkins. It better be. It's going to be extremely painful watching Joe play against us in a fucking Stoke jersey.

..and why do we care what some random Swansea fan on twitter thinks again? Who happens to be American as well! What an American adopted Welshman lecturing people on who the real SCFC are no offence to our American supporters here but thats a country that sells teams to cities calls football soccer the game what you play with your hands football in fact just noticed on my phone if i type football the emoji is 🏈 what the fuckin fuck is that one fuckin country play American football (i dont count Canada its just diet America with the occasional french accent) the rest of the world plat football ⚽ . Ffs i had to type soccer to get the ball emoji, all this from some twonk on twatter posting about as solid information as a wet fart about his football knowledge SCFC is Stoke city end of. If youll now excuse me im going lie down in a dark room mumbling to my self and calm down. Ps i hope that welsh caravan jockey signs for us now over them just so that muppet shits him self into oblivion.

Everton won't be signing no bugger until the Stones and Kak head transfers are ok'd. Do they think they're going be doing what Citeh did years ago? They'll never learn. Can't remember the figures but i'm sure the new everton owner is way,way down the list of prem owners.
