Isn't Bangoura just 1 game off equaling Sheron's record of goals in consecutive games? If so then how does the fact that he is suspended against Luton alter this? Does this end his chance of equaling the record? I hope not Chris

It shouldn't do - it is the number of games HE plays in which counts. After all if the record were due to be broken in January whilst he is away in Africa would we say he had to start again when he came back? I don't think so.

That's what I thought Fornside but it may escape the media attention a bit more with the 1-game break.
Saying that, maybe that's a good thing!

It must not affect the potential record because there is nothintg he can do about it! But unless he continues the run for another few months (to make a world record) the chances are, the only people going to be bothered are the Stoke fans in which case it's up to us how we interpret it.

It is the games that he has played in, if he misses the Luton game and scores against Burnley it will be 9 in 10 and just carry on as it has been doing untill he plays a game when he doesnt score.

Fornside 1000 posts - I give up. I'm on me knees. Yes, I'm a stat freak.

Are the local bookies offering any odds on Sam beating the record?
And something else that's always intrigued me about stats and betting, do his odds get longer for scoring in each game on the basis that "he can't possibly score in this one as well, can he?"
